カタールのアル・ラーヤンに所属するコロンビア代表MFハメス・ロドリゲスが、ヨーロッパ復帰の意思を明らかにした。
昨年9月にエバートンからカタールへ活躍の場を移したハメス。当時のエバートンではラファエル・ベニテス監督の下で出場機会を失っており、コロンビア代表としてワールドカップを目指していた同選手は、出場機会を求めて、まさにワールドカップ開催地であるカタールへ移籍した。
アル・ラーヤンではここまで公式戦14試合で5ゴール7アシストと上々の成績を収めていた中、昨年11月に1年ぶりにコロンビア代表に復帰。ワールドカップに向けて移籍が良い方向に進んでいた。 ところが、コロンビア代表は南米予選で6位となり、大陸間プレーオフにも出られずワールドカップ出場を逸してしまった。
目標がなくなったハメス・ロドリゲスは、3月5日の試合を最後に欠場が続いており、4月に一斉開催されたAFCチャンピオンズリーグにも出場しなかった。以前からヨーロッパ復帰に気持ちが傾いていることが指摘されていたが、この度、自らの言葉でその希望を明らかにした。コロンビア『Win Sports』のパイプ・シエラ記者が伝えている。
「移籍市場はまもなく開く。エリートフットボールへの復帰を真面目な可能性として模索しているよ。どこかに僕の左足を欲しているクラブはないかな!」

サンパウロ退団希望のハメス・ロドリゲスが驚きのイメチェン、新ヘアスタイルはコーンロウ
