日本と世界の差は、試合以上に練習内容から強く感じ取れそうだ。6日、UEFAネーションズリーグ2020-21ファイナルズ準決勝でイタリア代表と対戦したスペイン代表。ユーロ2020準決勝の借りを返すためにも負けられない一戦となったが、その試合前のトレーニング風景が話題となっている。

ピッチでは共にマンチェスター・シティに所属するスペイン代表のFWフェラン・トーレスとMFロドリが、ボールを落とさないようリフティングゲームをしている。だが、今回の2人は距離間が尋常ではない。ピッチを横断するほどの距離、およそ60mでそれをやってのけている。
勢いあるボールを地面に落とさずコントロールする技術に加え、キックも超が付くほど精確だ。受け手は立ち位置からほとんど動くことなくボールを収めることができている。

近い距離ならば頻繁に行われている光景だが、これほどの距離でリフティングというは稀だろう。これを見たファンからは「クレイジー」、「"太陽のサーカス"が来ている」、「彼らには朝飯前」、「簡単そうにやってるが信じられない能力」など、賞賛と感嘆の声が相次いだ。
試合でもフェラン・トーレスは2ゴールを挙げ、2-1でスペインが勝利。ユーロ2020の雪辱を果たしている。

データおよびテクノロジーにおけるリーディングカンパニーの「ニールセン・グレースノート」が、オーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)に出場する選手のインフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表した。 なでしこジャパンも出場する女子W杯。開幕までおよそ1カ月となった中で、各国の出場選手も決定している。 「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。 トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。 1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。 アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。 2位には、バルセロナのエースでありスペイン女子代表のエースでもあるMFアレクシア・プテジャス。フォロワーは280万人であり、1位のレーマンがどれほどのフォロワーを抱えているかがわかる。 「まだ泣くの早いって」と本田圭佑にツッコまれた日本代表サポーター、元Jリーガーの親友だった「親友が世界的にバズってて最高」
