ウェストハムに所属するイングランド代表MFデクラン・ライスのファンサービスが絶賛されている。

イングランドは8日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)欧州予選のグループI第6節でポーランドと対戦。予選5戦全勝でグループ首位に立つイングランドが、5ポイント差で2位に位置するポーランドのホームに乗り込んだグループIの頂上決戦に、ライスはフル出場した。

試合はイングランドがFWハリー・ケインのゴールで先制するも、後半アディショナルタイムの失点で追いつかれ、1-1のドローに終わった。

敵地ポーランドで行われた一戦だったが、ライスは「シャツをください」と記された手書きのボードを掲げ、ウェストハムのウェアを身に着けるファンを発見。自身のシャツをプレゼントするとともに、固い握手を交わしていた。

ハマーズファンの男性は試合後に自身のツイッターを更新。ライスとともにサムアップする写真とともに「やった!デクラン・ライスアイラブユー!!」と喜びを爆発させている。

ちなみに、この男性はグループで応援していたのだが、別の男性がチェルシーのユニフォームを持っていたのも確認されている。

今夏の移籍市場でのステップアップを望み、古巣であるチェルシーからの関心もあった中で残留を余儀なくされたとされるライスがこれにサインしてあげたのかどうかは不明だ。

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】
