オーストラリアサッカー連盟(FFA)は29日、東京オリンピックに臨むU-24同国代表の登録メンバーを発表した。
7月22日から8月7日にかけて行われる東京オリンピック。U-24オーストラリアはU-24アルゼンチン代表、U-24スペイン代表、U-24エジプト代表という強敵揃いのグループCに入った。
フル代表との兼任で五輪チームも率いる元ベガルタ仙台指揮官のグラハム・アーノルド監督は18名の1人として、昨季から浦和レッズでプレーするDFトーマス・デンを招集した。
また、オーバーエイジ枠を2つ活用。DFルオン・トンギックのほか、2015年から4シーズンを清水エスパルスで過ごしたFWミッチェル・デュークもメンバー入りを果たしている。
なお、オーストラリアは7月22日のU-24アルゼンチン戦が初戦に。その後、25日にU-24スペインとの対戦を経て、28日にU-24エジプトとの最終節に挑む。

10日、AFC U17女子アジアカップ2024の第2節がインドネシアで行われ、U-17日本女子代表はU-17オーストラリア女子代表と対戦し、1-4で勝利した。

Aリーグ・メンのメルボルン・ビクトリーでプレーする元オーストラリア代表DFマシュー・スピラノビッチ(34)が現役を引退した。 代表として2014年のワールドカップ(W杯)に出場するなど、通算36キャップのスピラノビッチはメルボルン・ビクトリーでのプロ入りから、ドイツ、日本、カタール、中国でもプレー。日本では2010年から2012年途中まで浦和レッズに所属して、通算48試合で1得点5アシストの数字をマークした。 その浦和を退団してからはカタール、オーストラリア、中国ときて、2018年夏からパース・グローリーで改めて母国復帰。2021年夏から古巣のメルボルン・ビクトリーに戻り、今季はここまでAリーグ・メン4試合の出場にどどまっていた。 17年間のプロキャリアに終止符を打つセンターバックはメルボルン・ビクトリーの公式サイトで「この場を借りて、プロ選手としての引退を発表させてもらう」と表明。そして、感謝の言葉を送っている。 「この4カ月は足のケガに悩まされ続け、ついに現役を退くときが来た。今季を戦い抜いて、メルボルン・ビクトリーの上位進出を手助けしたかっただけに、複雑な心境だ。チームメイト、コーチングスタッフ、トニー・ポポヴィッチ、そしてクラブ全体に感謝したい。キャリアを通じて、僕は恵まれ、誇りを感じる。過去にいたクラブ、チームメイト、コーチ、ファンにも楽しい思い出と特別な時間をありがとうと言う」 また、現役時代のいち時期をサンフレッチェ広島で過ごしたトニー・ポポヴィッチ監督は「マティは私が何年も指導し、一緒に仕事をしてきた選手。非常に才能のある守備者で、ピッチ内外ですべてが完璧なプロだ」などと労った。 2023.02.03 14:40 Fri

豪代表の背番号「10」もアジア杯落選…フルスティッチが約1年ぶりに所属クラブで公式戦
オーストラリア代表MFアルディン・フルスティッチ(27)が約1年ぶりのリーグ戦出場だ。 豪代表通算24キャップを誇るフルスティッチ。2019年のカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)2次予選で初キャップを飾り、最終予選に入って主軸に成長…背番号「10」を背負って日本代表相手に直接FKを叩き込んだ攻撃的MFだ。のちの本大会でも4試合中3試合でプレーした。 しかし、比較的順調だった代表キャリアと異なり、クラブキャリアが停滞。2021-22シーズンのフランクフルトではヨーロッパリーグ(EL)を制したチームでベンチウォーマー、22-23シーズンからエラス・ヴェローナへ移籍も、序盤戦でセリエA6試合に出場して以降はケガで全休する。 今季はケガが癒えた状態で迎えるも、なんと1月までに公式戦出場もベンチ入りもゼロ。完全な構想外となり、2月1日の移籍市場最終日にヴェローナ退団…オランダ1部のヘラクレス・アルメロと半年契約を結んだ。 そして10日、エールディビジ第20節のフィテッセ戦で新天地デビュー。ヴェローナ時代の昨年1月4日・トリノ戦以来、約1年1カ月ぶりとなるクラブキャリアでの公式戦となった。 ヴェローナでの停滞によりオーストラリア代表からフェードアウトし、先のアジアカップ2023も落選したフルスティッチ。豪『news.com.au』は「司令塔がようやく“現役復帰”。代表チームがアジア杯で絶望的なまでに創造性を欠いたのは、この27歳が不在だったから…W杯予選に向けて朗報だ」と、フルスティッチの代表復帰に期待を寄せている。 2024.02.13 14:00 Tue

「様になる」「神様カッコよすぎでしょ」名古屋がランゲラックの愛車、ランドクルーザー・プラドを公開
