ネイマールの五輪参戦、U-24ブラジル代表指揮官望むも「複雑な状況なのは理解」

U-24ブラジル代表のアンドレ・ジャルディン監督はパリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)のFWネイマールを東京オリンピックの戦いに呼べるなら、呼びたいとの思いを明かした。

東京五輪で前回のリオデジャネイロ大会に続く金メダルを狙うブラジル。先日にグループステージの組み合わせも決まり、参戦する各国の陣容に注目がより集まっているところだ。

そのなか、ジャルディン監督がブラジル『グローボ』のインタビューで、前回大会に続いてオーバーエイジ枠での参戦に注目されるネイマールについて、招集を望む声を残した。

「可能な限り最強のチームの作り上げたいのであれば、ネイマールは我々のメインプレーヤーになる。今の彼はおそらくキャリアのピークにもある。我々にとって、クオリティの大幅な向上になる」

ただ、東京五輪は派遣義務がない大会のため、所属先であるPSGの同意が必須。さらに、同時期にコパ・アメリカも予定され、ネイマールはこちらの大会に出るものとみられる。

ジャルディン監督もそういう状況を重々承知しており、「複雑な状況なのは理解している。監督である私の手から離れた問題なのだ」とコメント。望み薄であることを認めている。

ブラジルはグループDに入り、ドイツ、コートジボワール、サウジアラビアと同居。18名からなる選手リストの提出期限は6月30日となる。

「サッカーが大嫌いだった」偉大な父を持つ18歳M・イブラヒモビッチ、父ズラタンとの比較は「嫌だった」

21世紀の出場試合数ランキング発表! 首位は1145試合のC・ロナウド、トップ10に日本人選手がランクイン
