チェルシー監督の座を追われ、フリーのフランク・ランパード氏(42)がU-21イングランド代表指揮官候補に急浮上した。イギリス『デイリー・メール』が報じている。

U-21イングランド代表の指揮を担うアイディ・ブースロイド監督だが、今夏に契約満了。U-21イングランド代表は今月の代表ウィークでU-21欧州選手権のグループステージを戦っているが、初戦のU-21スイス代表戦に続き、U-21ポルトガル代表戦も敗れており、敗退危機に晒されている。

不甲斐ない結果も受けて、監督交代の時期だと認識を深めるイングランドサッカー協会(FA)は2017年にU-17ワールドカップ(W杯)を制したスティーブ・クーパー氏やU-20W杯優勝に導いたポール・シンプソン氏らを後任にリストアップ。ランパード氏もその1人に挙がっているという。
しかし、当のランパード氏は今年1月下旬にチェルシー監督を解任後、再びクラブの指揮を執る願望を公言。そのため、代表チームの監督職に興味があるかどうか不明な模様だ。

ランパード氏は現役時代に得点力も兼備した中盤のプレーヤーとしてイングランド代表通算106キャップを誇ったレジェンド。その姿に憧れを抱いてフットボーラーとしての扉を叩いた後輩も少なくないと推測され、この育成年代を率いるとなれば求心力も期待されるが、果たして…。

ルーニーがアメリカで感じた“悪夢”はCBのシュバインシュタイガー「一番とは言わないが最も難しい相手」

監督探しのC・パレス、元ドルト指揮官のファブレと近く交渉

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

フランスW杯の戦犯が…ベッカム史上最高のFKから20年「特別な瞬間だった」

これがプロ生活21年の代償か、元イングランド代表GKグリーンの小指は外側に変形

イングランド代表の選手に歴代選手数が書かれた“レガシーキャップ”をプレゼント!最新は1262番
