チェルシー監督解任のランパードがコメント…感謝綴る一方で「時間がなかったのは残念」とも

フランク・ランパード氏がチェルシー監督解任を受け、コメントを発表した。

チェルシーが誇るレジェンドOBの1人として知られるランパード氏は昨季からチームの指揮を執り、プレミアリーグ4位フィニッシュ。今季は2億ポンド(約283億3000万円)を上回る大型補強の援護を受けたが、直近5試合で1勝に終わるなど、首位マンチェスター・ユナイテッドに11ポイント差の9位と遅れを取り、25日に解任が正式決定した。

志半ばで愛するチェルシーを去ることが決まったランパード氏は25日、自身のインスタグラム(franklampard)に声明文を掲載する形で、ファンに向けてメッセージを発信した。

「長く人生の大部分を占めるチェルシーを指揮できたのは特権であり、名誉だった」

「まずこの1年半にわたり、素晴らしいサポートをしてくれたファンのみんなに感謝したい。それが私にとって何を意味するものだったのか、彼らが理解してくれていることを望む」

「この役割を引き受けたとき、困難な時期に直面するフットボールクラブにどんな試練が待ち受けているのかを理解してもいた」
