D・アウベスはこれまでバイーア、セビージャ、バルセロナ、ユベントス、パリ・サンジェルマン(PSG)、サンパウロでプレーし、前人未到のキャリア通算40個のタイトル獲得を成し遂げてきた生けるレジェンドだ。
2019年8月に加入したサンパウロでは、本職の右サイドバックだけでなく、持ち前の攻撃性能を生かして時にトップ下でプレーするなど、その存在感をより高めている。
しかし、スペイン『goal』が伝えるところによれば、D・アウベスは不振が続く現在のチーム状況に満足しておらず、ここ最近のピッチ外での物議を醸す振る舞いによってサポーターとの関係も悪化しているという。
そして、同選手は2022年12月までとなっているサンパウロとの現行契約を即時解消することを求め、クラブ幹部との話し合いを行う見込みだという。
