今回は元イタリア代表FWロベルト・バッジョ氏がユベントス時代に決めたフリーキックだ。

◆バッジョが相手GK無力化の完璧FK

1981年にセリエC1のヴィチェンツァで15歳にしてプロデビューしたバッジョ氏は、1985年にフィオレンティーナへと移籍。ケガに悩まされながらも結果を残すと、1990年に当時最高額の150億リラ(約16億5000万円)でユベントスへと移籍した。

ユベントスではキャリアの絶頂期を過ごし、1992-93シーズンはユベントスをUEFAカップ(現ヨーロッパリーグ)優勝に導くと、FIFA最優秀選手賞とバロンドールを同時受賞した。そして、ユベントスをリーグ優勝に導いた1994-95シーズンのUEFAカップ準決勝、1995年4月19日に行われたドルトムントとの2ndレグでは見事なFKを決めている。

1-1で迎えた31分、ユベントスはゴールのほぼ正面の位置でFKのチャンスを獲得すると、キッカーのバッジョが長めの助走から右足を一閃。スピードを保ったまま、ゴール左上へと吸い込まれる絶妙なFKに相手GKも成す術はなかった。

その後は、ミラン、ボローニャ、インテル、ブレシアとイタリアのクラブを渡り歩いたバッジョ氏。「偉大なるポニーテール」と称され、今なお“ファンタジスタ”の象徴的な存在となっている。

チェルシー、ブライトンで去就不透明なGKロベルト・サンチェス獲得に動く
