人種差別が起こったとされるのは、20日に行われたプレミアリーグ第9節のリバプール戦。リバプールのイングランド代表DFトレント・アレクサンダー=アーノルドに対し、人種差別が行われたようだ。
ユナイテッドはこの件に関し、「優先事項」として調査すると明かし、人種差別を行ったファンが特定された場合は、永久追放するとのことだ。
ユナイテッドの声明には「人種差別とあらゆる形態の差別は全く受け入れられず、クラブの価値観を反映していない」と人種差別を非難。「昨日の試合で、ホームセクションの個人が、人種的虐待に関与したとされる事件をにんしきしている。個人が特定され、スタジアムから退場した」と明かした。
また、リバプールもこの件に関し「マンチェスター・ユナイテッドが調査を開始したことの迅速さ」を歓迎するとともに、「責任があると判明した人に対して行われる、最も強力な行動を支援する」と人種差別を行ったファンを永久追放することへ賛同した。

「高価な食べ物はない」ギネス記録樹立、C・ロナウドのあの肉体の秘訣を専属シェフが明かす

「絶対に謝らない」ハーランド父に復讐したロイ・キーンが“報復”タックルを否定

「めっちゃおもろい」「好き」ライバルチームの少年ファンに写真を求められたハーランドの咄嗟の対応が話題に
