日本代表は日本時間25日、コパ・アメリカ2019グループC第3節でエクアドル代表と対戦する。

2試合を終えて1分け1敗で3位につける森保ジャパン(勝ち点1)。すでに終了した他グループの結果、勝利すれば決勝トーナメント進出が決まる中、同じく勝利でのグループステージ突破を目指す4位・エクアドル(勝ち点0)と対戦する。

そんな大事な一戦を前に、MF中島翔哉(アル=ドゥハイル/カタール)がDAZNでのインタビューに応対。エクアドル戦に向けて「少しでも勝利の可能性を高められるように」と意気込んだ。

中島翔哉の退団で思うこと/六川亨の日本サッカー見聞録

7月6日、残念なニュースが飛び込んできた。トルコのアンタルヤスポルに所属するMF中島翔哉が契約を解除されたと報じられた。中島は22年9月にポルトガルのポルティモネンセからアンタルヤスポルへ移籍。しかしハムストリングの負傷により2ヶ月間ほど離脱した影響もあり、16試合(スタメンは7試合)に出場したもののノーゴール・ノーアシストと結果を残すことはできなかった。香川真司の後継者として、日本代表の「背番号10」を受け継ぐのは中島だと思ったことがあった。2016年1月にカタールで開催されたAFC U-23アジア選手権、リオ五輪のアジア最終予選を兼ねた大会で中島はこれ以上ない輝きを放った。得意とする左サイドでのプレーから、カットインでの右足ミドルシュートは破壊力抜群だった。準々決勝のイラン戦(3-0)では、0-0の延長から2ゴールを奪って勝利に貢献。決勝の韓国戦では0-2のビハインドから、FW浅野拓磨の2ゴールとMF矢島慎也のゴールで3-2の大逆転劇を演じたが、浅野の決勝点をアシストしたのが中島だった。中島は大会MVPを獲得し、U-23日本はU-23アジア選手権で初優勝を果たした。 16年春先にはFC東京の練習後の自主トレ中に、自らのシュートのリバウンドをボレーで打ったところ“足を持って行かれ”膝のじん帯を負傷。しかし懸命のリハビリのおかげでリオ五輪には間に合った。リオ五輪(といっても赤道近くのマナウスと北部のサルバドールでの試合だった)ではグループリーグで敗退したが、コロンビア戦で中島が小気味よいステップからマーカーをかわすと、ブラジル人ファンは大喜びしたものだ。やはりドリブラーが好きなのだろう。 2018年にはヴァイッド・ハリルホジッチ監督に招集されて代表デビューを果たしたものの、監督交代などもありロシアW杯のメンバーに入ることはできなかった。19年1月に森保ジャパンに招集され、カタールでのアジアカップに臨んだが、大会前の練習中の負傷により離脱を余儀なくされる(代わりに招集されたのが乾貴士だった)。この頃から、中島のサッカー人生には暗雲が漂い始めた。 2017年8月23日、自身の誕生日に婚約と海外移籍をFC東京の練習グラウンドで発表。ポルティモネンセは、ステップアップのためには“手頃”なクラブと思ったものだ。2シーズン目の途中となる19年2月、カタールのアル・ドゥハイルへ43億7500万円という日本人最高額のトレードマネーで移籍を果たす。プロである以上、トレードマネーや年俸は評価のバロメーターになるし、お金を稼ぐことは当然だ。しかし、かつては自身も「ビッグマウス」を公言していたが、メディアのバッシングにより「沈黙」を貫くようになった中島は、もともとかなりシャイな性格だ。子供の頃は公園でボールと戯れ、FC東京でもU-23日本代表でもチーム練習が終了後は、リフティングに始まりドリブルやシュート練習など必ず居残りで1人黙々と汗を流していた。そんな中島を「1人上手」と思ったものだ。ある時、彼に仲の良い選手を聞いたところ、植田直通の名をあげた。植田はU-23日本代表で、チーム練習が終了後は必ずと言っていいほどコーチ陣とマンツーマンでロングキックの居残り練習をさせられていた。練習後は中島と2人で室内ジムに直行して趣味の筋トレに汗を流した。それから一風呂浴びているうちに仲良くなったのだろう。いくら夫婦同伴とはいえ、日本やポルトガルとカタールでは環境があまりにも違いすぎる。何カ国か渡り歩いて生活した経験があるならまだしも、お世辞にも社交的とはとうてい言えず、内向的な性格の彼にカタールでの生活は厳しかったのでないか。実際、5ヶ月後に中島はポルトへ完全移籍する。ところが年明けの20年はコロナの流行などもありサッカーに専念できる環境ではなくなった。21年は、カタールよりはまだ都会のUAEのアル・アインへ移籍するも、2月の練習中に脛骨骨折とじん帯断裂の大けがを負う。同年8月にポルティモネンセへ復帰し、22年はアンタルヤスポルへ移籍したものの、選手としてこれといった実績を残せずトルコを去ることになった。人生に「if」はないが、19年にポルティモネンセから5大リーグの中位クラブ、プレッシャーの厳しい都会のビッグクラブではなく、田舎のクラブへステップアップしていたら、中島のサッカー人生はまた違ったものになっていたのではないだろうか。いくらトレードマネーが高額だとしても、アル・ドゥハイルへの移籍は失敗だったし、中島にとって未知の国であるトルコのアンタルヤスポルへの移籍も失敗だった。最終的には彼自身が決断したとしても、代理人は中島の性格や順応性などを正確に把握した上で移籍先を決めたのかどうか、いまでも疑問に思っている。ただ、これで彼のサッカー人生が終わったわけではない。28歳という年齢は、ケガさえなければ脂の乗る時期だし、日本代表でもMF遠藤航や浅野らリオ五輪時代の仲間がプレーしている。ここは一度Jリーグに復帰して、左サイドのスペシャリストとして稀代のドリブラーの捲土重来を期待したい。三笘薫と交代で中島が出てきたら、相手はきっと嫌がるはずだからだ。 2023.07.07 20:25 Fri

水頭症の治療も及ばず他界した工藤壮人に古巣が追悼…カナダからもメッセージ「一番辛い仕事」、「信じられません」

「泣いちゃった…」「絶対に忘れません」急逝の工藤壮人、『DAZN』が追悼映像を公開「本当にありがとう」

「爽やか〜」「かっこよすぎ」田中碧のニューヘアーが大絶賛、大先輩も「髪型グーやん」
