▽ブルース監督は、アストン・ビラがチャンピオンシップ(イングランド2部相当)に降格した2016年夏に監督に就任。これまでウィガンやサンダーランド、ハル・シティなどイングランドのスモールクラブの指揮を執ってきた同監督は、初年度と2016-17シーズンは13位、昨季は4位という成績を収め、プレミア昇格プレーオフに進出。結局、決勝でフルアムに敗れ3季ぶりの昇格は逃していた。
▽そして、昇格を目指して迎えた今シーズン、優勝候補のアストン・ビラはリーグ戦11試合を終えた時点で3勝6分け2敗の12位に位置。チームの不甲斐ない成績に、ファンやサポーターからも解任の声が挙がっていた。

「寄せすぎ」「コピーだ」アストン・ビラの新エンブレムがチェルシーに酷似?実は過去のデザインを踏襲したもの
