▽国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)は8日、先日のロシア・ワールドカップ(W杯)欧州予選のイングランド代表vsスロバキア代表で、試合中に中指を立てるジェスチャーを行ったイングランド代表MFデレ・アリに対して、懲戒訴訟を開始したことを発表した。

▽4日に行われたイングランド代表vsスロバキア代表に先発出場したデレ・アリは、試合終盤に中指を立てるジェスチャーを行っていたことが、テレビの中継映像で映されており、物議を醸していた。

▽デレ・アリは試合後、このジェスチャーが相手選手や観客、審判に対して行ったものではなく、昨シーズンまでトッテナムで共にプレーしていたイングランド代表のチームメートでもあるDFカイル・ウォーカーに向けたジョークだと弁明。ウォーカーやチームメートのFWジェイミー・ヴァーディ、ガレス・サウスゲイト監督らも、今回の行為が挑発的なものではなかったと擁護していた。

▽だが、FIFAは今回の行為が処分対象だと判断し、調査開始を発表した。

▽なお、今回の一件に関するFIFAの処分決定は、9月半ば過ぎに発表される見込みで、悪質な行為と判断された場合は、数試合の出場停止処分が科される見込みだ。

北中米W杯の欧州予選組み合わせ決定! 12カ国+POの4カ国が出場権獲得、来年3月からスタート【2026年北中米W杯欧州予選】

2020年の東京五輪でイギリス代表が復活か!?
