過密日程を嘆くサッリ監督、CLリヨン戦に向けて最終節ローマ戦はリザーブを用意か

セリエAを制覇したユベントスのマウリツィオ・サッリ監督の照準はすでにチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)リヨン戦に向いているようだ。『フットボール・イタリア』が伝えた。

サッリ監督の就任1年目で紆余曲折なシーズンを送りながらも、セリエA9連覇を達成したユベントス。しかし、新型コロナウイルスの影響による過密日程は、絶対王者と言えど疲労困憊を強いられ、優勝直後に行われた第37節のカリアリ戦は0-2の敗戦を喫した。

試合後、サッリ監督は過密日程を嘆き、チームを休ませる必要があることを認めた。また、8月1日に控える最終節のローマ戦ではリザーブチームを起用することも示唆した。

「問題は我々が12日間で5試合も戦わなければならない唯一のチームであるということだ。明日の状況を確認して、週末にU-23チームを送り出せるか判断する。そうすれば少しばかり休ませることが出来るだろう」

そしてローマ戦後は、いよいよCLラウンド16のリヨン戦。サッリ監督の視線はすでに8月7日に注がれているようだ。

「モチベーションと決意という点では、これは非典型的な試合であり、残りの試合と捉えることは出来ない」

「今日は9人の選手がケガでホームに残っていた。リヨン戦に向けて不透明な状況だが、誰が回復するか注目しておかなければならない」

なお、2月26日に行われた1stレグでは0-1で敗戦を喫しており、本拠地アリアンツ・スタジアムでの逆転突破が期待されている。
