いきなり離脱へ… イングスが新天地デビュー戦でヒザを負傷、過去に両ヒザ手術

ウェストハムの元イングランド代表FWダニー・イングスが、新天地デビュー戦でケガを負ってしまったようだ。イギリス『サン』が伝えている。

20日にアストン・ビラからの加入が発表されたばかりのイングス。低迷するウェストハムの救世主と期待され、2025年夏までの契約を締結。移籍金は推定1500万ポンド(約24億1000万円)となった。

その翌21日にさっそく新天地デビュー。第21節エバートン戦の72分に投入され、自身にゴールは生まれなかったが、チームは2-0で勝利と、幸先の良いロンドン生活をスタートさせたかに思われた。

だが、20分ほどのプレーの中でヒザを負傷。イギリス『ガーディアン』は離脱を数週間と見込んでおり、少なくとも2月11日に行われるプレミアリーグ第23節のチェルシー戦までは欠場するという。

イングスはリバプール時代の2015年に左ヒザ前十字じん帯断裂を経験し、翌年には右ヒザも手術。ここ数年は幸いにも大きなケガに見舞われていなかったが、今回もヒザのケガとあって少し心配なニュースだ。

日本人も多くプレーするイングランド女子サッカーの人気沸騰…残り6節で最多入場者数を更新、2月には歴代最多の1試合6万人超

イングランドでの女子サッカー熱はかなり高まりを見せているようだ。 FA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)は、イングランドの女子サッカーの最高峰リーグ。プレミアリーグに所属するトップクラブの女子チームの多くが参戦している。近年は日本人選手も大量にプレーしており、今シーズンはなでしこジャパンでプレーするMF長谷川唯(マンチェスター・シティ)、MF長野風花(リバプール)、FW宮澤ひなた(マンチェスター・ユナイテッド)、DF清水梨紗、MF林穂之香、FW植木理子(いずれもウェストハム)、FW浜野まいか(チェルシー)、MF籾木結花、MF宝田沙織(共にレスター・シティ)がプレーしている。その他にもワールドクラスの選手が多くプレーするFAWSLだが、今シーズンの人気は圧倒的だという。イギリス『BBC』によると、15日にスタンフォード・ブリッジで行われたチェルシーvsアーセナルでは、チェルシーがクラブ記録となる3万2970人を動員したとのこと。この試合により、今シーズンの総入場者数が71万7721人となった。年々人気が高まっており、2022-23シーズンは過去最高の入場者数を記録。その数は68万9297人であり、すでに今シーズンは記録を更新することとなった。なお、リーグ戦は残り6節、36試合あり、いかに今シーズンの集客数が飛び抜けているかが分かるだろう。その要因の1つは男子チームが使用するスタジアムでの試合数が増加したこともあるとされ、スタジアムのキャパシティが大幅に増えたことが影響。ただ、そのキャパシティを埋めるだけの観客が集まることが熱狂を産んでいる。 2月にはアーセナルがマンチェスター・ユナイテッドをエミレーツ・スタジアムに迎えた試合で、6万160人を動員。これはFAWSL史上最高記録となっている。 2024.03.20 13:10 Wed
