U-24オーストラリア代表が帰国便で問題行為…過度な飲酒により乗務員の指示拒否などの騒ぎ起こす

U-24オーストラリア代表と同国の7人制ラグビー代表チームが東京オリンピックから帰国する飛行機の機内で問題を起こしていたことが判明した。『ESPN』が報じている。

東京五輪の男子サッカーでスペイン、アルゼンチン、エジプトと同じグループCに入っていたオーストラリアは、1勝2敗の最下位で今大会を終えていた。

そのオーストラリアは、7人制ラグビー代表チームと共に7月30日の東京発の日本航空の便で帰国の途に就いた。

しかし、その機内では乗務員による着席やマスク着用の指示を拒否した他、過度な飲酒によって酔っぱらって歌うなど、幾つもの問題行為が行われていたようだ。

そして、日本航空からオーストラリア・オリンピック委員会(AOC)に対して、非公式な形で苦情が届けられていた。

これを受けて、オーストラリア・オリンピック委員会は、チームを管理するオーストラリアサッカー連盟、オーストラリアラグビー協会の両競技団体に対して今回の問題行為に関する調査及び対処を行うように要求した。

そして、現在両競技団体は独自に調査を開始している。

今回の不適切な行為を受け、AOCのマット・キャロルCEOは以下のような声明を発表している。

「航空会社からの正式な苦情はありませんでしたが、容認できない行動が我々の注意を引き、加盟スポーツのCEOに直接問題を提起しました」

「非常に残念なことですが、ラグビーとサッカーの両競技団体からこのような行為はそれぞれのスポーツでは受け入れられないものだったという返答を受けています」

なお、オーストラリアのオリンピック出場選手に関しては、帰国前の選手村の部屋でパーティーを行い、ベッドや壁を破壊するなどの問題行為が批判を招いていた。

ラ・リーガ残留のカディス、オーストラリア代表FWメイビルを完全移籍で獲得
