FIFA、ラポルテのスペイン国籍取得を認定

マンチェスター・シティのDFアイメリク・ラポルテ(26)のスペイン国籍取得が、国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)に無事承認されたようだ。フランス『レキップ』が報じている。

フランス南西部の出身でバスクにルーツのあるラポルテは、フランスとスペインの両国籍を持つ。アンダー年代ではフランス代表としてプレーし、2016年10月のA代表初招集の以降、三度の招集を受けていたが、これまで出場機会はない状況だった。

そこに目を付けたスペインサッカー連盟(RFEF)はラポルテとコンタクトを取り、スペイン代表としてプレーできるよう働きかけていることが、スペイン『マルカ』の報道で先日明らかに。そしてこの度、その認可がFIFAから正式に下りたことで、晴れてスペイン代表でプレーする権利を得た。

FIFAのスポークスマンが『AFP』にしたコメントによると、この承認は「即時性」を持つもので、ラポルテはすでにラ・ロパでプレーできる資格があるとのこと。6月15日にはユーロ2020の初戦を迎えるルイス・エンリケ監督率いるスペイン代表にとって、心強い戦力が加わることになった。

なお、スペイン代表の直近の試合は6月5日に行われるポルトガル代表との親善試合となっている。
