スタンダール・リエージュは7日、ウォルバーハンプトンから日本代表MF川辺駿(27)の獲得で合意に達したと発表した。4年契約での加入となる。
サンフレッチェ広島、ジュビロ磐田でJリーグキャリアを築き、2021年7月にグラスホッパーで欧州挑戦を果たした川辺。シーズン途中に姉妹クラブのウォルバーハンプトンと3年半契約を結んだ。
だが、ウォルバーハンプトンではプレーせず、そのままレンタルプレーヤーとしてグラスホッパーに残り、1シーズン半にわたってプレー。昨季は公式戦35試合で9得点10アシストをマークした。
スポーツディレクター(SD)のファーガル・ハーキン氏は「ハヤオを獲得できてとても嬉しく思う。経験があり、得点の取り方とさせ方も心得ている。ゲームに対するインテリジェンス、パスの質、セットプレーの巧みさはチームの大きな財産となる」と期待を語った。

8度目のW杯へ、日本代表がミャンマー戦前日トレーニング! 24名が参加

日本代表MF川辺駿が古巣広島に復帰! S・リエージュとクラブ間合意 「キャリアの中で間違いなく1番大きな決断」
サンフレッチェ広島は2日、スタンダール・リエージュに所属する日本代表MF川辺駿(28)の完全移籍について、クラブ間での基本合意を発表した。メディカルチェックを経て正式契約が結ばれる予定だ。 広島、ジュビロ磐田でJリーグを戦い、2021年7月にグラスホッパーで初の海外挑戦となった川辺。半年後の2022年1月にはウォルバーハンプトンへの完全移籍が決まったが、レンタル移籍の形でグラスホッパーにとどまった。 スイスでは中盤のレギュラーとして2シーズンを戦い、通算71試合で16ゴール14アシストを記録。2023年7月にはウォルバーハンプトンでプレーすることなく、スタンダール・リエージュへ完全移籍した。 ベルギーでも立ち位置を確保し、2023-24シーズンは公式戦37試合で7ゴール9アシストをマークしたが、スタンダール・リエージュは大きな債務問題を抱えている状況で、選手たちへの給料未払いも発覚。契約をあと3年残す川辺だが、移籍要望を提出し、古巣の広島が獲得に動いていると報じられていた。 日本代表としても6キャップを数える川辺は日本復帰の決断について、クラブを通じてコメントしている。 「サンフレッチェ広島という大好きなクラブ、自分の育ったクラブからオファーをもらい、またこのエンブレムを付けてプレーできることを嬉しく思います!」 「自分のキャリアの中で間違いなく1番大きな決断になりました! 年齢やパフォーマンス面でもこれからくるピークをこのクラブのために闘いたいと思いました! エディオンピースウイング広島で会えるのを楽しみにしています!」 2024.08.02 16:39 Fri
