マンチェスター・シティのポルトガル代表MFベルナルド・シウバのリバプール戦前の様子が話題になっている。6月25日のプレミアリーグ第31節でチェルシーと対戦したマンチェスター・シティが敗れたことで、30年ぶりのリバプール優勝を達成していたリバプール。2日のリバプールとシティの直接対決では、優勝が決まったリバプールの選手たちに対して、ピッチ入場の際にシティの選手たちが花道を作り、拍手で出迎える「ガード・オブ・オーナー」が行われる予定だった。
