スイス代表のムラト・ヤキン監督が、ポルトガル戦のチームは万全の状態ではなかったことを明かした。
ブラジルやカメルーン、セルビアといった強豪ひしめくグループステージを突破し、3大会連続の決勝トーナメント進出を果たしたスイス代表。ラウンド16では68年ぶりのベスト8を目指してポルトガルと対戦したが、結果は1-6の完敗となった。
打つ手なしという印象の試合だったが、ヤキン監督によればチームは満身創痍に近い状態だったとのこと。右サイドバックとしてグループステージの3試合で先発出場していたシルヴァン・ヴィドマーをはじめ、複数の主力選手が体調を崩していたようだ。
「彼は昨日もトレーニングをしていたのだが、昨晩から熱が出始め、そのまま体調を崩してプレーできなくなってしまった。(ハーフタイムで交代した)ファビアン・シェアも全力を出せず、ニコ・エルベディも4日前から体調を崩していた」
「今回のワールドカップでは自分の選択が正しかったと確信している。システムの問題ではなく、対戦相手が強かったのだと思っている。ポルトガルは我々よりはるかに優れていて、我々のプレーを予測していた。結局、走行距離の割には結果に現れなかったのだ」

悪質タックル受け復帰絶望の元コートジボワール代表MFが現役引退へ…
▽スイス・スーパーリーグに所属するチューリッヒの元コートジボワール代表MFジル・ヤピ・ヤポ(32)が、9日のアーラウ戦で相手選手から受けた悪質タックルで重傷を負い、現役引退を余儀なくされる見込みだ。イギリス『メトロ』が報じている。 ▽ヤピ・ヤポは、9日に行われたアーラウ戦の前半途中に競り合いの場面でリヒテンシュタイン代表MFサンドロ・ヴァイザーから足裏を見せた非常に悪質なタックルを受けた。その場面を映像で確認すると、トップスピードで突っ込んできたヴァイザーの右足がヤピ・ヤポの右ヒザの内側に食い込み、自分の体重と衝撃を支え切れなかった同選手の右ヒザは逆方向に曲がってしまった。 ▽その後、自力で立つことができず、担架に乗せられてピッチを去った同選手は、すぐさま病院に直行。精密検査の結果、右ヒザの前十字じん帯と内側側副じん帯、膝蓋腱(しつがいけん)の断裂に加え、半月板と右ヒザ周辺の軟骨組織に深刻な損傷を負ったことが判明した。この厳しい診断を受けて、復帰を諦めたヤピ・ヤポは近日中に現役引退の意向を表明する見込みだ。 ▽なおチューリッヒは、ヤピ・ヤポの選手生命を脅かす悪質なタックルを見舞ったヴァイザーに対して、損害賠償を求めて告訴する準備を進めているという。(写真:バーゼル時代のヤピ・ヤポ) 2014.11.12 20:01 Wed

プーマが7着も破れたスイス代表のユニフォームについて説明「製造段階で欠陥があった」
