戦下のウクライナでW杯開催か? 2030年大会に立候補のスペイン&ポルトガルが明日会見を実施

最初のワールドカップ(W杯)が開催されたのは1930年。ウルグアイで行われ、そこから4年に1回の開催を積み上げてきた。 2022年はカタールで開催。史上初の冬開催、そして中東での初開催ということで、大きな注目を集めている。次の2026年は、アメリカ、カナダ、メキシコの3カ国共催が決定。そして、第1回大会から100周年を迎える2030年大会についても開催の立候補が進んでいる。まず立候補したのは、第1回大会を開催したウルグアイ。100年ぶりの開催を目論む中で、南米での共同開催に話が変更。2022年8月2日に、ウルグアイ、アルゼンチン、パラグアイ、チリが共同開催で立候補していた。また、モロッコも立候補。1994年、1998年、2006年、2010年、2026年と過去5度にわたって立候補するも敗れており6度目の挑戦となる。さらに、スペインとポルトガルが共催での立候補をしており、2021年6月に正式発表。その中で、スペインサッカー連盟(RFEF)が、5日にスイスのニヨンにある欧州サッカー連盟(UEFA)の本部にて、ポルトガルサッカー連盟(FPF)と共同会見をすると発表。2030年のW杯の立候補に関するものだとしている。声明では「新たな情報が加わる」としており、RFEFのルイス・ルビアレス会長、FPFのフェルナンド・ゴメス会長が出席するという。内容に関しては不明だが、イギリス『タイムズ』によれば、ここにウクライナが加わるとしている。現在はまだロシアとの紛争の最中にいるウクライナだが、ウォロディミル・ゼレンスキー大統領もゴーサインを出しているとしている。開催となればおよそ8年後。紛争が終息する必要もあるが、スタジアムを含め多くの場所が被害を受けているだけに復興しなければいけない状況でもある。果たして明日の会見で何が発表されるのか。100周年となるW杯の開催地は、2023年に発表される予定だ。 2022.10.04 12:05 Tue
