魅せた“王者・フロンターレ”の連携、「絵を合わせる」ことが日本代表を救う/日本代表コラム
“ヒーロー”は遅れてやってくるとは言ったもの。まさに、遅れてやってきた。 24日に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)アジア最終予選のオーストラリア代表vs日本代表。オーストラリアは負ければプレーオフに回ることが確定、日本は勝てば7大会連続7度目のW杯出場が決まるという試合だった。 アウェイの地でオーストラリアに勝ったことがない日本としては、そのよくないイメージを払拭して、苦しかった最終予選を終えたいところだった。 天候はあいにくの雨。いや、大雨でピッチには水が溜まるほどの状況で、大一番はキックオフを迎えた。 立ち上がり早々に日本は南野拓実がシュートを放ち、勢いを持って試合に入る。オーストラリアは日本のビルドアップを封じようと慣れない前からのプレスをかけるが、日本が押し込む展開が前半は続いた。 しかし、南野のシュートが2度ポストを叩くなど、ここでも“決定力”という言葉付き纏うことに。それでも悪くない流れで試合を折り返した。 後半に入ってからは勝たなければいけないオーストラリアがギアを入れ変えることに。前線へのロングボールからセカンドボールを回収して日本を押し込んでいく。 対する日本は攻め急ぐことをやめ、ボールを大事にしてチャンスを窺うが、ゴールを奪えない。すると84分に投入されたMF三笘薫(ロイヤル・ユニオン・サン=ジロワーズ)が魅せる。89分にDF山根視来(川崎フロンターレ)のグラウンダーのクロスを蹴り込み日本代表初ゴール。このゴールで先制すると、後半アディショナルタイムには得意のドリブル突破からシュート。2点を決め切り、日本をW杯へと導いた。 <span class="paragraph-title">◆2度も日本を救った三笘薫</span> まさに“救世主”という言葉がピッタリだろう。出場時間はアディショナルタイムを考えても10分程度。しかし、その10分間で主役となった。 日本がポゼッションして押し込み始めてきた時間帯。しかし、雨の中での試合ということもあり徐々に疲労が見え始め、強度が落ちていた部分があった。 そこで森保一監督が投入したのは、三笘とMF原口元気(ウニオン・ベルリン)の2人。MF南野拓実(リバプール)とMF田中碧(デュッセルドルフ)に代えての起用だった。 三笘に目が行きがちだが、原口が中盤に入ったことで中盤に活力が戻り、オーストラリアの腰が少し引けた感があった。その中で右サイドバックの山根が高い位置を取れることに。そこからゴールが生まれる。 中盤の強度が高まることで、日本が押し込めることに。ゴールが欲しかったオーストラリアは前後が分断され、日本からボールを取り返すことがなかなかできなかった。その中で、右ウイングのMF伊東純也(ヘンク)を試合開始から警戒していたが、左にも三笘というドリブラーが入り、オーストラリアは対応しきれなかった。 三笘の情報は東京五輪を含めて知っていたはずだ。しかし、疲弊していたオーストラリアの右サイドでは対峙できない。伊東は試合後「あの時間で薫が入って仕掛けたら全部抜けると思います」とコメント。「一対一になればなかなか薫を止めるのは難しいと思います」と、試合終盤に三笘が出てきては太刀打ちできないと語った。 その言葉通り、1点目は三笘を完全にフリーにしてしまってのゴール。2点目は縦への仕掛けからボックスに侵入され、あとは手出しできなくなってしまったという形だ。 三笘は日本代表デビュー戦となった昨年11月のオマーン代表戦で後半開始から出場し、ドリブル突破から81分に伊東のゴールをアシスト。苦しい試合で日本を3連勝に導く活躍を見せていた。 オーストラリア戦のゴールで日本を救うのは2度目。アウェイで勝てないというジンクスまで打ち破り、W杯出場を決めるゴールを決め切った。 <span class="paragraph-title">◆フロンターレイズムが浸透</span> そしてもう1つ今の日本代表で気になるのが川崎フロンターレの存在だ。 ここ5年で4度のJ1優勝を達成し、日本で最も強いチームと言っても過言ではない川崎F。この試合のピッチにも、最終的には5名の川崎F出身者がピッチに立つこととなった。 三笘も当然そのうちの1人だが、1点目はまさに川崎Fのコンビネーションで生まれたゴールと言える。 原口のボールキープから高い位置でパスを受けたのは山根。相手が寄せてきたところで山根は右足アウトで浮き球のパス。これに反応していた守田英正(サンタ・クララ)がボックス内で受けるとスペースへパス。これに山根が反応しており、ラインギリギリで山根が中央へ折り返す。 スペースがぽっかり空いていたところへ出されたパス。誰もいなかったが、逆サイドから猛然と走り込んでいた三笘が右足で蹴り込みゴールを決めた。 山根のパスから始まった一連の流れ。守田は「視来くんからボールが入ることはわかってました」とパスが来る予感がして相手の前に入ったとコメント。山根は「絶対前に入ってくる確信があったので感覚だけでアウトで出した」と、守田の動き出しを予測してパスを出したという。 さらに守田のパスをダイレクトで中に折り返したことについて山根は「薫はあそこに絶対いると思った」と無理な体制でも中に戻すことを考えたとコメント。三笘は「あそこでマイナスに来ると思っていた」と山根のパスを予見していた。 日本代表はヨーロッパでプレーする選手が増えれば増えるほど、アジアへの移動に時間がかかり、集合するタイミングが遅れる。試合に向けた準備もままならず、今回も集まって1日の全体練習で試合に臨んだ。 クラブでのサッカーから代表でのサッカーに切り替えることは容易ではなく、またコンビネーションを合わせる時間もほとんどない中、なかなかチームプレーは難しくなるが、そこで助けになることが同じ感覚を持った選手の存在だ。 試合前日に「チームの戦い方の絵を合わせてもらう」と森保監督は話していたが、1点目のゴールはまさにそれ。そして、それは王者・川崎フロンターレでそれぞれの選手が培ったものだった。 山根は「1年半やっていて、薫が入ってくるポイントと僕があげるポイントは意思疎通ができていて、点につながって良かったです」とコメント。チームで一緒にプレーしたことが生んだゴールだった。 かつてはスペイン代表がレアル・マドリーとバルセロナの選手、ドイツ代表がバイエルンの選手が主体となって構成されていた。オーストラリア戦に出場した選手で実際に川崎Fでプレーしているのは山根だけだが、守田も三笘も共に戦いタイトルを獲得した仲間。さらに、田中、谷口彰悟(川崎フロンターレ)、旗手怜央(セルティック)と共にタイトルを獲った選手はまだいる。改めて、意思の疎通、「絵を合わせる」ということの大切さを感じさせられた。 《超ワールドサッカー編集部・菅野剛史》 <span class="paragraph-title">【動画】これが王者・川崎Fの連携! 三笘薫の終盤2ゴールでオーストラリア撃破!</span> <span data-other-div="movie"></span> <script>var video_id ="sHjDAm_5dbQ";var video_start = 382;</script><div style="text-align:center;"><div id="player"></div></div><script src="https://web.ultra-soccer.jp/js/youtube_autoplay.js"></script> 2022.03.25 13:10 Fri

メッシが開始1分19秒のキャリア最速弾! アルゼンチンがオーストラリアとのカタールW杯再戦に快勝《国際親善試合》
