「アメフト選手みたい」“肉体改造”に成功したA・デイビスに「NBAなら薬物検査もの」

「僕はここから」アキレス腱断裂から復活を遂げた中山雄太、長友佑都を超える「安心感を与えることが野望の1つ」

約1年ぶりに日本代表に復帰したDF中山雄太(ハダースフィールド・タウン)が、試合を振り返った。 13日、MIZUHO BLUE DREAM MATCH 2023で日本はカナダ代表と対戦。4-1で勝利を収め、5連勝を飾るとともに、5試合連続の4ゴール以上と結果を残した。主軸選手が不参加となっている今回の活動。テストの要素も強く、出番が限られていた選手を多く起用した中、日本は開始2分に田中碧のミドルシュートが決まり先制。39分には浅野拓磨のクロスがオウンゴールを誘発すると、42分には浅野のパスを受けた中村敬斗が代表4ゴール目を記録する。前半で3-0とした日本は、後半早々の49分には南野拓実、伊東純也とつなぎ、最後は田中が落ち着いて決めて4点目。その後は選手を入れ替えて行った中、89分に失点をするも、4-1で勝利を収めた。カタール・ワールドカップのメンバーに選ばれながらも、直後にアキレス腱断裂という重傷を負い無念の事態。およそ1年ぶりに日本代表に復帰した中山は、左サイドバックとしてフル出場を果たし、自身の復帰戦を振り返った。「満足はないですし、強いて言えば数字は欲しいので、そこが無かったところは残念です」「ただ、やれるべきことはやったので、それに対して課題が生まれて、積み上げて結果を残せればと思います。最低限できた感じです」この試合ではより積極的に攻撃に絡んでいく中で、中村や田中との絡みも左サイドで見せていた。「事実上僕は久しぶりで、みんなと一緒にやっている時間は少なかったので、コミュニケーションは結構取っていて、試合中もコミュニケーションは取っていました。それがスムーズに見えた要因かなと思います」「僕としては敬斗も碧ももっと良くなると思っていると思いますし、もっと良くならないといけないので、そこら辺は楽しみとして見てもらえればと思います」一定の手応えも感じつつあった中山。一方で、守備面については前半やらせてしまった部分もあったと振り返った。「比較的相手はロングボールが前半は多くてトミ(冨安健洋)もFWに寄せきれていなかったり、周りの選手ももっと制限できることはできたと思うので、そこは全員感じていると思います」「今回はベストではないので、勝ちながら改善していければと思います。課題が見つかることは良いことかなと思います」テストマッチとして課題は収穫にもなるという中山。改めて、リスタートを切ることとなり、この先への意気込みを口にした。「帰ってきたこともそうですけど、僕はここからというのがあるので、しっかり代表に残り続ける、レギュラーの座をしっかりと掴み続けるというところは意識しています」「ただ、自分だけじゃないので、チームが成長しながら、そこに関わっていけるようにやりたいと思います」日本の左サイドバックは長らくDF長友佑都(FC東京)が担ってきた。その後継者とも期待されていた中での絶望を味わった中山。長友とは違うとしながらも、多くの学びがあったことも事実であり、超えられる存在になりたいとした。「選手としての特長が違うので、僕自身は学ぶことが多く、一緒にやって盗める部分が多かったので、責任が生まれることは確実ですが、意識はもう1つ上で、佑都くんでもなく、佑都くんになかったものを兼ね備えようと思います」「逆に言えば、佑都くんがいなくなって、左サイドバックで確実に安心感を与えられるようになることがケガから戻ってきての野望の1つなので見せていきたいです」自身の見せたい特徴については「一言では安心感を与えられること。安定だけじゃなく、攻撃に絡むことは復帰してから意識していることで、数字が残れば攻撃的になったと思われると思います」とコメント。「今日は数字が残せなかったけど、前線に絡みにいくシーンは結構あったので、同時に数字が出てくればと思います。守備もできて、攻撃もできるということを目指したいです」と、サイドバックとして高みを目指していくことを決意しているようだ。 2023.10.14 08:20 Sat
