5日、首位に立つウェステルローは下位に沈むムスクロンをホームに迎えた。だが、使い慣れたはずのホームスタジアムの芝は、GKにいたずらを仕掛けたようだ。

立ち上がりの10分、ウェステルローは左サイドバックのDFクヤ・マベアがバックパス。ゴールの枠を外し、自陣のボックス左でこれを処理しようとしたGKデイビッド・イェンセンだったが、まさかのキックミスをしてしまう。

不規則に跳ねていたために当て損ね、ボールはゴール方向へ。それでも角度が浅かったために、辛うじて枠を外れていたように思えたが、回転も相まってか、最後のバウンド後にキュっと枠内へと向かいネットを揺らした。

想定外の失点にショックを隠せず、うつ伏せとなるGK。立ち上がった後にもピッチに向けて何か悪態をついていうようにも見える。

これで動揺したのかホームチームはさらに失点を喫し、前半を0-2で終えることに。ただ、後半に攻撃陣が奮起し、最終的には4-3で逆転勝ちを収めている。

ユーロ2024予選組み合わせ決定!王者イタリアがイングランドとまさかの同居、ベルギー、オーストリア、スウェーデンが死の組に

「2、3年休んでいるけど…」レアル退団、代表引退のアザールが「体は耐えられる」と第一線でのプレー続行に意欲、去就については「今は休暇に行きたい」

ベルギー代表からの引退を表明し、お別れのセレモニーが開催されたMFエデン・アザールが、自身の今後について語った。ベルギー代表のエースとして活躍し、一時は世界最高峰の選手の1人とまで評価されたアザール。しかし、レアル・マドリーへの移籍が転機となり、ケガが増え、輝きを失い、ケガがなかった今シーズンも構想外となっていたために出番がかなり限られ、結果として契約解除という形で退団することとなった。代表もクラブも離れることとなったアザール。キャリアの1つの終わりを迎えた中、代表チームからのお別れのセレモニーを受けてベルギー『RTBF』でコメントした。「今日は彼らが僕をとても幸せにしてくれた。たくさんの感情を感じた」「これは僕がたくさん良いことをしたことを証明している。足りないのは勝ち点3点だけだ!」「ゲームを見るのは好きなことではない。選手として常に助けたいと思っているし、仲間外れにされるのは悔しい…」現役を引退したわけではないものの、代表チームを去ると決めたことでピッチに立てず、悔しさが出てきたアザール。自身の去就について尋ねられ、まずは休みたいと明かした。「正直、まだ分からない。この困難な3年間を終え、僕は家族との時間を過ごし、他の人たちと同じように休暇に行きたいだけだ」「確かにここ数日、僕は自分自身についてたくさんの記事を読んだ。そしてナンセンスなこともたくさんある」「弟と一緒にRWDMモレンベークに行くか? それが愚かなことかどうかはわからないけど、見てみましょう..みんなが期待している答えを提供していないことはわかっているけど、正直に言うと、まだ答えはない」「そうは言っても、僕にはまだプロサッカー選手になる能力があり、僕の体は耐えられると保証する。2、3年休んでいるけど、まだエネルギーはある」近年は満足いくプレーをしているとは言えないアザール。ただ、まだ第一線でプレーしたいという気持ちと、プレーできるという自信は持っているとのこと。果たして、来シーズンはどこのユニフォームを身に纏うのだろうか。 2023.06.18 23:15 Sun
