そして、27日に行われたカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)欧州予選グループH第2節のキプロス代表戦でスタメンに名を連ねたモドリッチは、クロアチア代表として歴代最多となる135試合目の出場を果たした。
キプロス戦ではキャプテンマークを巻き、チームの勝利に貢献したモドリッチだったが、試合後にはサプライズが待っていた。
代表選手たちの食事の場面で、クロアチアサッカー連盟(HNS)の計らいにより、モドリッチの記録樹立に関する記念映像が流され、さらにはチームメイトたちからのスタンディングオベーションを受けると、「135」と記されたケーキがモドリッチにプレゼントされた。

さらにお父さん似に?モドリッチとそっくりな娘が10歳に

「史上最悪」「恥ずかしい」伝統の市松模様が史上最大サイズになったクロアチアの新ユニフォームには酷評の嵐「これ以上酷いものは見たことがない」

クロアチアの伝説的な指揮官であるミロスラフ・ブラジェビッチ氏(享年87)が逝去した。 クロアチアサッカー連盟(HNS)は8日、ブラジェビッチ氏が逝去したことを明かした。 「今日、フットボールファミリー全体が『全ての監督の監督』を失った」と、伝説的な指揮官の逝去を伝えた。 なお、長らくガンを患っていたブラジェビッチ氏は、母国のザグレブで息を引き取ったという。 同氏の訃報を受け、クロアチア代表を指揮するズラトコ・ダリッチ監督は、偉大なる先達を追悼している。 「フットボールの父…。私が監督としてのキャリアで達成したすべてのことへの真のインスピレーションを与えてくれました」 「チロは比類のないモチベーターであり、スピーカーであり、卓越したスタイルとより大きな魂を持った男であり、それが私たち全員が彼を愛し、尊敬している理由です」 1935年2月10日に生まれたブラジェビッチ氏は、隣国のボスニアにある故郷のトラヴニクで選手としてのキャリアをスタート。 その後、1960年代初めに選手キャリア晩年を過ごしたスイスで監督キャリアをスタートし、1979年に旧ユーゴスラビアの一部であったクロアチアに移った。クロアチアでは、リエカ、ディナモ・ザグレブの監督を歴任し、ディナモを24年ぶりのユーゴスラビア王者に導いた。 1994年から2000年にかけてはクロアチア代表の指揮官に就任し、ユーロ1996のベスト8進出。1998年のフランス・ワールドカップでは初出場での3位入賞に導いた。 以降はイラン代表やボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ代表、母国や第二の故郷とも言えるスイスのクラブや中国の上海申花などの指揮官を歴任した。 2023.02.08 23:07 Wed
