ラ・リーガ2部(スペイン2部)の第36節のサラゴサvsウエスカが29日に行われ、0-1でウエスカが勝利した。サラゴサのMF香川真司は72分までプレー、ウエスカのFW岡崎慎司も72分までプレーした。
前節エストレマドゥーラに勝利した2位のサラゴサ(勝ち点61)が、リーグ戦3試合勝利のない4位ウエスカ(勝ち点56)をホームに迎えた一戦。サラゴサの香川は第34節のアルメリア戦以来2試合ぶりの先発出場。一方の岡崎は、今季9ゴール目を記録した前節のカディス戦に続き、3試合連続の先発となった。
来季の昇格を争う両チームの一戦は、立ち上がりにウエスカがチャンスを迎える。8分、フェレイロの左クロスが相手DFのクリアミスを誘うと、岡崎が体を倒しながらボレーシュート。これがDFのブロックに阻まれるとこぼれ球を再び岡崎が狙ったが、これも相手DFにブロックされた。
その後は膠着状態が続いたが、徐々にボールを持てる展開としていったウエスカが35分に決定機を迎える。味方のサイドチェンジを右サイドで受けたペドロ・ロペスの右クロスをゴール前のビンセントがヘディングシュート。しかし、これはクロスバーを直撃した。
対するサラゴサは、44分に反撃。味方とのパス交換でボックス右から侵入したルイス・スアレスの折り返しを中央の香川がワントラップから左足を振り抜いたが、シュートはゴール左に外れた。
ゴールレスで迎えた後半、先にチャンスを迎えたのはサラゴサ。59分、香川のパスで抜け出したスアレスがボックス右から強烈なシュートでゴールを狙ったが、これは相手GKが正面で弾き出す。
さらにサラゴサは、63分に中盤でのボール奪取からショートカウンター。ダニエル・トーレスのラストパスをボックス左で受けたスアレスがフリーでシュートを放ったが、これは右ポストに弾かれた。
主導権を握るサラゴサは72分、香川を下げてプアドを投入。対するウエスカも72分に岡崎を下げてクリストを投入した。すると82分、左サイド高い位置でFKを獲得したサラゴサはエグアラスの供給したクロスをアティエンサがヘディングシュート。しかし、これはわずかにゴール右に逸れた。
このまま試合終了かと思われたが、後半アディショナルタイムにウエスカに歓喜の瞬間が訪れる。95分、中盤からのロングボールをボックス手前のビンセントが胸トラップからゴール前に侵入。これは飛び出したGKが弾かれたが、こぼれ球を拾ったハビ・ガランがシュートをゴール中央に突き刺した。
結局、これが決勝点となり0-1でタイムアップ。劇的弾で日本人対決を制したウエスカは、3位に浮上している。

ウエスカは27日、日本人FW桑原茜(28)が加入することを発表した。桑原はウエスカの女子チームにとって初めての日本人となる。
ウエスカといえば、元日本代表FW岡崎慎司が2020-21シーズンまで所属していたクラブ。クラブ史上2人目の日本人選手となり、ウエスカ・フェメニーノ(女子チーム)にとっての1人目の日本人となる。
桑原は大阪府出身でなでしこリーグ2部のASハリマアルビオンで20015年から2018年までプレー。その後はスペインへと渡り、昨シーズンはレバンテ・ラス・プラナスでプレーした。
そこでは16試合で14ゴールを決め、チーム内得点王に輝く活躍。ウエスカに加入することが決まった。
桑原はクラブを通じて、加入の意気込みを語った。
「こんにちは。今シーズンからウエスカ・フェメニーノでプレーさせていただくことになりました桑原茜です」

今シーズン限りでの現役引退を発表したシント=トロイデンの元日本代表FW岡崎慎司に労いのコメントが相次いで寄せられている。
26日、シント=トロイデンと岡崎は今シーズン限りでの現役引退を発表。昨シーズンから続くケガを含め、身体的に限界が来たとして引退を決断したことを明かした。
日本代表としては歴代3位の50ゴールを記録し、代名詞であるダイビングヘッドなど体を投げ出してゴールに向かう闘志溢れるプレーは多くの人を魅了。また、献身的な前線からの守備も特徴で、レスター・シティ時代には奇跡のプレミアリーグ優勝に貢献していた。
ヨーロッパで長らくプレーしてきた岡崎。その引退発表には、多くの仲間や所属したクラブがメッセージを送った。
