ロベルト・マルティネス監督は、FWクリスティアーノ・ロナウド(アル・ナスル)、DFルベン・ディアス(マンチェスター・シティ)、MFベルナルド・シウバ(マンチェスター・シティ)ら主軸を順当に招集。
そんな中、FWフランシスコ・コンセイソン(ポルト)とジョタ・シルバ(ヴィトーリア)を初招集とした。レフティーのアタッカーであるフランシスコ・コンセイソンは、ポルトの指揮官である父セルジオ・コンセイソンの息子。親子2代での代表選手となった。
ユーロ本大会を6月に控えるポルトガルは、21日にスウェーデン代表とホームで、26日にスロベニア代表とアウェイで対戦する。
