なでしこジャパンも出場する女子W杯。開幕までおよそ1カ月となった中で、各国の出場選手も決定している。
「ニールセン・グレースノート」は出場する選手の中での、インフルエンサーとしてのランキングを発表。フォロワーやフォロワーの増加、エンゲージメント率など、インスタグラム上の投稿ごとの平均ブランド価値を評価してランキングを発表した。
トップ10が発表され、実に9カ国の選手がランクイン。アメリカ女子代表のみが唯一2選手がランクインしている。
1位に輝いたのは、アストン・ビラでプレーするスイス女子代表のアリーシャ・レーマン。世界一セクシーなアスリートとしても知られ、インスタグラムのフォロワーは1340万人。元プロテニスプレーヤーのロジャー・フェデラーを超え、インスタグラムで最も人気のあるスイス人アスリートとなっている。
アストン・ビラでは2シーズンでFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で43試合に出場し7ゴール。スイス代表としても38キャップを記録している。
2位には、バルセロナのエースでありスペイン女子代表のエースでもあるMFアレクシア・プテジャス。フォロワーは280万人であり、1位のレーマンがどれほどのフォロワーを抱えているかがわかる。
2シーズン連続でUEFA年間最優秀女子選手、バロンドールを受賞。2021年にはFIFA最優秀女子選手賞を受賞している。

3日、ピケは自身のSNSを通じて現役引退を表明。5日に行われるラ・リーガ第13節アルメリア戦がカンプ・ノウでのラストマッチになることを報告した。
マンチェスター・ユナイテッド、そしてバルセロナでプレーしたピケ。30個のタイトルを獲得した一方で、スペイン代表としてもワールドカップやユーロで優勝を成し遂げるなど、輝かしいキャリアを築いてきた。

世界中でも話題となり、本田圭佑からもツッコミを受けた日本代表のサポーターが意外な人物と繋がっていたようだ。
1日、カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)グループスE最終戦で日本はスペイン代表と対戦。劇的な逆転勝利を収め、グループ首位でベスト16入りを決めていた。
ドイツ代表戦に続いてのアップセットは世界中を驚かせた他、逆転ゴールに繋がった三笘薫の折り返しのシーンがラインを割っていたかどうかが大きな議論を呼ぶことに。国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)が公式見解を示すほどにまで発展していた。
今大会では日本人サポーターが世界中でバズることが多く、ドイツ戦前にFIFAの公式映像に映ったことで、世界中で美女サポーターだと大騒ぎになったSHONOさん、ドイツ戦で「私のボスへ。2週間の休暇を取らせてくれてありがとうございます!」と紙に書いた上、上司から返事をもらった男性サポーターなどがいた。
そんな中、スペイン戦でも1人のサポーターが注目の的に。田中碧の決勝ゴールが決まった後、すでに涙した姿が映し出された男性サポーターが大きな話題に。「ABEMA」で解説していた本田には、「まだ泣くの早いって」とツッコまれてしまったサポーターだが、実は元Jリーガーの親友だったという。
その選手とは、サガン鳥栖やベガルタ仙台、ガイナーレ鳥取、横浜FC、奈良クラブ、栃木シティFCでプレーし、今シーズンは松本山雅FCでGKコーチを務めていたシュナイダー潤之介氏だ。
シュナイダー潤之介氏は、自身のツイッターを更新。「親友が世界的にバズってて最高」とし、その男性サポーターがカメラに抜かれた写真を投稿していた。
ゴミ拾いも含め、何かと注目を集める日本代表関係者。意外な繋がりは他にもまだまだあるのかもしれない。

スペインで最高の外傷学者の1人であるペドロ・ルイス・リポル氏が、重傷を負ったスペイン代表MFガビについて言及した。スペイン『カデナ・セール』が伝えた。
19日に行われたユーロ2024予選のジョージア代表戦に先発出場したガビは、20分過ぎに着地の際にヒザを捻りピッチに倒れ込むことに。すぐに大きなケガにも見える反応を見せ、そのまま交代していた。
重傷だとすぐにわかると、20日にバルセロナは右ヒザ前十字じん帯断裂、外側半月板損傷と診断されたことを発表。手術を受けることが決定していた。
今季絶望とも言われ、19歳のガビにとっては非常に大きなケガとなった中、チームメイトやライバルからもエールが送られていた。
そんな中、リポル氏は「カルーセル・カナーラ」の中でガビの負傷について言及している。
「ケガはもっと大きなものであるとも予想していた。彼のヒザが突然曲がった最初の動作を見た時、私は99%の希望を失った」
「全てが十字じん帯であることを示していた。私にとっては最初の動きで心が折れてしまった」
「関連するケガにもよる。半月板が関係していれば、予後は長くなる。半月板だけなら、7、8カ月だろう。半月板が断裂した場合は、19歳にとっては劇的な状況になってしまう」
結果として半月板に損傷はあったが、断裂までとはいかなかったが、それでも大きなケガとなった。
また、リポル氏はあまりにも多い試合数が原因だとコメント。試合数を減らす努力をすべきだと指摘している。
「全てのケガは、選手の試合数と関係している。走れば走るほど、プレーすればプレーするほど悪くなる。どのチームも勝ちたい。これは変わらない」
「やるべきことはルールとスケジュールを適応させることだ。現状に合わせて何かをしなければならない。サッカー選手がプレーする時間を分散させなければならない」
ガビは今シーズンの3カ月で21試合に出場。およそ4日に1回のペースで試合を行っており、移動も伴い、高いレベルでの試合をこなしている。
リポル氏はこうしたことが起きたことで、今一度考えるべきだとコメント。代表チームでポジションを確保するために無理をする可能性も指摘した。
「この数字はあまり合理的とは思えない。サッカー選手は多くの試合に出場することができるが、このような休みでは立ち止まって考え、解決策を探さなければならない」
「代表チームに参加すれば、“チップ”が変わってしまう。誰もがゼロからのスタートとなり、チームのようにメンバーが固定されていないからだ」

9日に自身の公式ツイッターで同性愛者であることを告白した元スペイン代表GKのイケル・カシージャス氏(41)だが、今回の投稿には別の意図がある可能性があるようだ。スペイン『アス』が報じている。
カシージャス氏は9日、自身の公式ツイッターを通じて、「あなたが私を尊重してくれることを願っています。私はゲイです」と、同性愛者であることを告白した。
カシージャス氏は、2009年からスポーツジャーナリストのサラ・カルボネロさんと交際。その後、2013年に長男のマルティンくん、2016年には次男のルーカスくんと2人の子供を儲けた中で2016年に結婚していた。しかし、2021年3月に両者は離婚を発表していた。
その離婚の背景には複雑な事情があったと想像されたが、『アス』は今回の投稿が同性愛者であることをカミングアウトすることが目的ではなく、ここ最近加熱する自身に関する熱愛報道への抗議の意味合いがあると主張している。
カシージャス氏は離婚後、幾度となく熱愛報道が出ており、ここ最近ではスペイン代表の元同僚であるジェラール・ピケの元パートナーである世界的な歌手のシャキーラ、スペインの有名女優アレハンドラ・オニエバ。過去にはスペインのテレビ番組パーソナリティであるメリッサ・ピント、ロシオ・オソルノといった女性との交際疑惑が報じられていた。
『アス』によると、今回カシージャス氏のツイッターアカウントが乗っ取りにあった可能性は低く、同氏が一連の熱愛報道にフラストレーションを募らせた末に皮肉を込めた意味合いで前述の投稿を行った可能性が高いとみている。
また、この投稿に反応したスペイン代表の元同僚であるカルレス・プジョール氏は、「今こそ、僕らの話をするときが来た」との返信を行っていたが、これに関してはカシージャス氏の事情を理解していた上での反応だと推測している。
現時点で『アス』の報道が事実かは不明だが、カシージャス氏は世界的に大きな反響があった当該投稿を削除している。
仮に、前述の告白が『アス』の指摘通りの意図で行われたものであるとすれば、世界中で自身の性自認及び性的指向に悩む人々を愚弄する卑劣な振る舞いとして大きな批判は避けられない。
そのため、カシージャス氏は今回の投稿、それを削除した意図に関して今後説明を行う必要がありそうだ。
