ベルギー代表でコーチを務めるトーマス・フェルマーレン一家の日本への愛は今も心に残っているようだ。
フェルマーレンは現役時代、アヤックス、RKC、アーセナル、バルセロナ、ローマでプレー。2019年7月からはヴィッセル神戸に加入し、そのシーズンにクラブ初の主要タイトルとなる天皇杯優勝に貢献した。
昨季もクラブ最高位となる明治安田生命J1リーグ3位フィニッシュに貢献したが、契約満了により退団。現役を引退し、ベルギー代表のコーチに就任している。
フェルマーレンの妻であるポリー・パーソンズさんが、日本の父の日である6月19日に自身のインスタグラムを更新。「父の日おめでとう」というコメントとともに京都での思い出を投稿した。
写真のフェルマーレンは、ユニフォームではなく袴姿。同じく袴を身に纏った2人の息子と抱き合い、父の顔を見せている。なお、ベルギーの父の日は1週間早く、日本の父の日を意識して日本での写真の投稿となった。
日本を離れて半年になるフェルマーレンだが、この投稿には「また日本に来てください」、「おめでとう」、「まさかの羽織袴」、「素敵」と日本のファンも反応。さらに、神戸のスペイン人MFセルジ・サンペールも目がハートの笑顔の絵文字を続け、メロメロの様子だ。

バルセロナのレジェンドセンターバックコンビが役割を変えて再タッグを組むことになりそうだ。
ここ十数年のバルセロナのセンターバックコンビとして強い印象に残るのは、スペイン代表でもコンビを組んでいたカルレス・プジョール氏と、ジェラール・ピケ氏の2人だ。
現在は共に現役を離れているが、ピケ氏がオーナーを務めるセグンダ・ディビシオン(スペイン2部)のFCアンドラで再び仕事をすることになるようだ。
バルセロナ一筋のキャリアを歩む2014年に現役を退いたプジョール氏。その後、バルセロナのスポーツディレクター(SD)を務めたアンドニ・スビサレッタ氏のサポート役としてフロント入りしたが、同氏がSD職を退任した2015年1月に自身も退団。
以降はイバン・デ・ラ・ペーニャ氏の下で代理人としての仕事も経験したが、現在は悠々自適な暮らしを謳歌。時おり、古巣でアンバサダー的な役割を担い、レジェンドマッチなどにも出場しているが、フットボール界とは一定の距離を保っていた。
しかし、スペイン『Diari d’Andorra』の報道によると、プジョール氏はピケ氏からの誘いを受け、FCアンドラのフロントに入ることになるという。
現時点でどういった役職を務めるかは不明だが、ジャウメ・ノゲラSDのサポート役としてリクルート部門に属する可能性が高いようだ。なお、同氏は現在アンドラに住んでいて、友人がオーナーを務めるクラブの試合を頻繁に観戦に訪れていたとのことだ。
ちなみに、アンドラで指揮を執るエデル・サラビア監督は元バルセロナのアシスタントコーチで、先日にはヴィッセル神戸を退団したラ・マシア出身のMFセルジ・サンペールが加入。多くの元バルセロナ関係者が集っている

エクストラクラサ(ポーランド1部)に所属するモトル・ルブリンは1日、かつてヴィッセル神戸でプレーしたMFセルジ・サンペール(29)の加入を発表した。
契約期間は2025年6月30日までの1年間となる。背番号は「6」。
バルセロナのカンテラ育ちのサンペールは、2016年7月にファーアスとチームに昇格。そのままグラナダやラス・パスマルへのレンタル移籍を経験する
2019年3月に神戸へと完全移籍で加入。J1で88試合に出場し6アシストを記録するなど、公式戦107試合に出場し1ゴール7アシスト。アンドレス・イニエスタやダビド・ビジャらとともに、2019年に天皇杯を優勝すると、2023年はJ1優勝したチームでプレーしていたが、イニエスタの退団とともにチームを離れ、2023年7月にFCアンドラへ完全移籍していた。
バルセロナの先輩でもあるジェラール・ピケ氏が保有するクラブで1シーズンを過ごしたサンペールは、公式戦19試合に出場し1ゴールを記録するも退団していた。
サンペールはクラブを通じてコメントしている。
「監督やスポーツ・ディレクターと話したが、彼らは僕を信じてくれていると感じた。クラブが発展していることも明らかだ」
「彼らが2部からエクストラクラサに至るまでの道のりは驚くべきもので、トレーニング施設は印象的で、スタジアムは本当に美しい。ここでとても幸せになれると思う」
「僕の目標は、再びサッカーを楽しみ、今シーズン、クラブが最高の結果を出せるよう手助けすることだ。ファンが僕のパフォーマンスに満足してくれることを願っている」
モトル・ルブリンは、2022-23シーズンは3部を戦っていたが、2シーズン続けてプレーオフを制して昇格を達成。ついに1部に到達していた。
