女子サッカー界を代表する2人の間に赤ちゃんが誕生する予定だ。おめでたいニュースを発表したのは、チェルシー・ウィメンのオーストラリア女子代表FWサマンサ・カー(31)と、ウェストハム・ウィメンの元アメリカ女子代表MFクリスティ・ミュイス(33)の2人。カーが自身のインスタグラムで「ミュイスとカーの赤ちゃんは2025年に誕生予定!」と発表した。

2人によれば、ミュイスが赤ちゃんを妊娠するとのこと。ウェストハムはインスタグラムを通じ「第一子を妊娠していることを発表したクリスティとパートナーのサムに心からお祝い申し上げます」と祝福した。
カーはオーストラリア女子サッカー界のアイドル的存在であり、チェルシーでもFA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で5連覇を達成。女子FAカップで3回、リーグカップで2回優勝を経験している。

現在はヒザのじん帯損傷でプレーできない状態だが、6月にチェルシーと2年契約を結んだ。
一方もミュウィスは、アメリカ女子代表として53試合に出場。2023年12月にNJ/NYゴッサムFCからウェストハムに加入した。

2人は2023年のオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップに互いに国を代表して出場するなど、女子サッカー界の実力者。おめでたい話となった。

「ヤバすぎ」「メッシと並んでる」長谷川唯が百科事典の表紙に大抜擢! スペインで発行される表紙の5人に選ばれる「ついにここまで来たか」

女子サッカー界のスター、豪女子代表FWカーと元米女子代表MFミュウィスのカップルが妊娠を発表…来年ミュウィスが出産

チェルシーが女子サッカー史上最高額で24歳のアメリカ女子代表DFギルマを獲得、パリ五輪金メダルに貢献

チェルシーは26日、アメリカ女子代表DFナオミ・ギルマ(24)をアメリカのサンディエゴ・ウェーブから完全移籍で獲得した。契約期間は4年半となる。 ギルマは24歳ながらアメリカ女子代表で44試合に出場。2024年のパリ・オリンピックでは全試合に出場し金メダル獲得に貢献した。 2023年のオーストラリア&ニュージーランド女子ワールドカップ(W杯)でも高いパフォーマンスを見せて、アメリカの年間最優秀女子選手にも選出されていた。 サンディエゴ・ウェーブには、2022年にナショナル・ウィメンズ・サッカーリーグ(NWSL)のドラフト1位で加入。新設されたチームでいきなり主軸としてプレーし、ルーキー・オブ・ザ・イヤーを受賞。2年目は優勝に貢献した。 2024年にはFIFA最優秀女子選手賞にノミネートされ、ベストイレブンに選出。イギリス『BBC』によれば、移籍金は90万ポンド(約1億7400万円)とみられ、女子選手として歴代最高額の金額となっている。 エチオピア人の両親を持ち、移民として育ってきたことで難しさもあったキャリアを過ごしてきたギルマ。チェルシーに加入し、FA女子スーパーリーグ(FAWSL)で初のエチオピア人選手となる中、「とても大きな意味がある」とし、最高のリーグでプレーできることを喜んだ。 「両親はアメリカに来たときは何も持っていませんでした。私がそこで生まれ、そこで成長し、今このレベルでサッカーをすることは、両親が夢にも思わなかったことだとわかっています。私も夢にも思っていませんでした。それが可能だなんて知りませんでした」 「アメリカ、そして今では海外でプレーできることは本当に素晴らしいことです。若い女の子たちに、あなたにもできるということを見せられるのです。伝統的な背景がなくても、出身地がどこであっても、夢を追い、情熱を追求することはできます」 「移民の子供として、多くの場合、そうは感じません。スポーツでも他のことでも、他の人に刺激を与えることができればと思っています」 2025.01.27 19:20 Mon
