今月の代表ウィークでアメリカ代表の招集を受けたマッケニー。16日に行われたCONCACAFネーションズリーグ準々決勝1stレグのトリニダード・トバゴ代表戦にフル出場した。
しかし、マッケニーは試合後、左ヒザに違和感を訴えた模様。検査の結果、問題が明らかとなり、ひと足先に代表活動を切り上げ、所属先のユベントスに戻ることになった。
今後、アメリカ代表は21日にCONCACAFネーションズリーグ準々決勝2ndレグでトリニダード・トバゴ代表と再戦する。

日本代表戦に臨むアメリカ代表のメンバー確定! 背番号も明らかに

吐く息は真っ白、-19℃の過酷環境でW杯予選が開催! 選手たちも寒すぎて防寒対策

女子選手の意見を参考に配慮し白パンツを中止、ナイキが女子W杯出場13カ国の新ユニフォームを発表!
