U-21イングランド代表MFコール・パーマーの状態が気がかりだ。

今夏にマンチェスター・シティから移籍金4000万ポンド(約72億6000万円)でチェルシー入りしたパーマー。この代表ウィーク前のプレミアリーグでは1得点1アシストの数字をもって初の連勝に貢献した。

新天地チェルシーで存在感を大きくして、U-21イングランド代表の活動に合流した21歳は12日にホームで行われたU-21ユーロのU-21セルビア代表戦に先発。だが、右太ももを痛め、52分に交代した。

そんなパーマーは16日に行われるU-21ユーロのU-21ウクライナ代表戦に向けた遠征に参加せず、所属先に戻ったようだ。イギリス『メトロ』がリー・カーズリー監督のコメントを伝えている。

「コールは大丈夫だと思うが、そういう選手に(出場)チャンスを与えるわけにいかない。そういう彼らが週末の試合を欠場するのではないかという懸念があるなら、我々はできるだけ早くクラブに返す。コールに関してはここにとどめて様子を見るのもできたが、それは正しいと思わなかった」

元ユナイテッドSDがFAに復帰…新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任

元マンチェスター・ユナイテッドのスポーツディレクター(SD)、ダン・アシュワース氏が、イングランドサッカー協会(FA)に復帰することになった。 FAは14日、アシュワース氏が新設のチーフ・フットボール・オフィサーに就任すると発表。同職ではイングランド代表の男女チームと緊密に連携していくことになるという。昨年12月にユナイテッドのSDをわずか5カ月で退任したアシュワース氏。それ以前にはブライトン&ホーヴ・アルビオン、ニューカッスルで手腕を発揮しており、国内外のクラブからのオファーも想定されていたが、2018年まで6年間に渡って勤務していたFAに復帰することになった。アシュワース氏は、セント・ジョージズ・パークの再開発を監督し、2028年に開催されるユーロ2028の共催に向け、競技施設とピッチの改善を目指す。さらに、この新役職は、男子フットボールのテクニカルディレクターであるジョン・マクダーモット氏と緊密に連携するとともに、FAの最高経営責任者(CEO)であるマーク・ブリンガム氏とも連携する。また、イングランド国内の地元出身のコーチの育成にも携わる予定だという。 2025.05.15 16:30 Thu

イングランド代表のコーチ陣にコクラン氏が入閣、世代別のイングランド代表監督を務めた経験もある若手指導者…トゥヘル監督が最後の1人に指名

イングランドサッカー協会(FA)は26日、イングランド代表のコーチにジャスティン・コクラン氏(43)が就任することを発表した。トーマス・トゥヘル監督が就任し、初の活動を3月に控えているイングランド。2026年の北中米ワールドカップ予選がスタートする中で、新たなコーチングスタッフが決定した。コクラン氏は、クイーンズ・パーク・レンジャーズ(QPR)でキャリアをスタート。イングランドやアメリカでプレーし、2013年7月に現役を引退。引退前からトッテナムのアカデミーのスタッフとして働くと、U-15、U-16、U-17のイングランド代表の監督も務めていた。イングランド代表の育成に携わってきたコクラン氏は、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドの育成ディレクターも務め、現在はブレントフォードでトーマス・フランク監督の右腕として指導にあたっている。 FAによれば、ブレントフォードとは兼任となるとのこと。トゥヘル監督は、アシスタントコーチのアンソニー・バリー氏、GKコーチのエンリケ・イラリオ氏、パフォーマンスコーチのニコラス・マイヤー氏らがいるコーチングスタッフの最後のメンバーとして迎えることを決めたという。 2025.02.27 11:50 Thu

相手が恐れる右手…ストライカーの完成形と呼ばれた男、アラン・シアラー
