元なでしこジャパンMFの阪口夢穂(35)は9日、自身のツイッターでプロサッカー選手を引退することを発表した。「みなさまお久しぶりです!世界1周の旅からやっと帰ってきました!(ウソです)」
「ピッチから離れてしばらく経ちましたが、今日からプロサッカー選手という肩書きは返上することにしまーす。これからは人間・阪口夢穂として精進いたしますので、どうぞよろしくお願いしまーす!」
阪口は大阪府出身で、スペランツァF.C.高槻(現:スペランツァ大阪)でキャリアをスタート。2006年にTASAKIペルーレへと移籍すると、2009年にはアメリカのFCインディアナへと移籍。2010年にアルビレックス新潟レディースに加入し、日本に復帰する。
2012年には日テレ・ベレーザ(現:日テレ・東京ヴェルディベレーザ)へと移籍しプロ契約。なでしこリーグ3連覇などチームの黄金期を築き上げると、自身もなでしこリーグの最優秀選手賞を史上初となる3年連続受賞と輝かしいキャリアを築いた。
なでしこジャパンとしても通算124試合に出場し29得点。2006年になでしこジャパンに初招集されると、2011年のドイツ女子ワールドカップ(W杯)ではボランチとして全試合に出場し、W杯優勝に大きく貢献。2012年のロンドン・オリンピックでも全試合に出場し銀メダルを獲得。2015年のカナダ女子W杯にも出場し準優勝の成績を残した。
2016年からは背番号10を背負うこととなったが、2019年のフランス女子W杯には選ばれなかった。
阪口は現役生活で何度となくヒザを負傷。両ヒザの前十字じん帯を損傷するなどケガとの付き合いもあった中、偉大なキャリアを過ごした。

なでしこ遠藤純、ヒザ手術後のリハビリ姿公開 復帰への想い綴る「決して諦めません、戻るべき場所は1つしかない」
