ベルギー代表新監督のテデスコが就任の経緯を明かす「歯医者で待っているところだった」

ベルギー代表監督への就任が決まったドメニコ・テデスコ氏がその経緯を明かしている。

8日にベルギーサッカー協会(KBVB)から就任発表があったテデスコ氏。これまでにシャルケやスパルタク・モスクワ、RBライプツィヒを指揮した37歳指揮官は、カタール・ワールドカップをもって退任したロベルト・マルティネス監督の後任に据えられることになった。その経緯はというと、本人曰く自己推薦だったようだ。前任者の退任の一報を聞き、すぐにコンタクトをとったという。

「歯医者で待っていたらロベルト・マルティネスが代表監督を辞めるというニュースが流れてきた。そして、どうしたらこの仕事に就けるか、代理人に連絡したのだ」

「代理人からは国際的な経験がないため、あまり期待しない方がいいと言われた。しかし、最終的にプロセスは順調に進んだ」

代表初挑戦となるテデスコ監督は2024年までの契約を締結。目先の目標はユーロ2024の出場権の獲得だ。

「エレガントだ」「絶対に買う」ベルギー代表の新ユニフォームが好評!カラーリング一新でファンの間でも話題に「とてもカッコいい」
