スペインサッカー連盟(RFEF)は8日、スペイン代表を率いるルイス・エンリケ監督(52)の退任を発表した。
L・エンリケ氏はバルセロナを率いたのち、2018年7月にスペイン代表指揮官に就任。骨肉腫を患っていた娘さんの看病のため、翌年6月に一度辞任も、同年11月に復帰し、欧州予選を勝ち抜いてカタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)の出場権を獲得した。
カタールW杯のグループステージではコスタリカ代表、ドイツ代表、日本代表と同組になり、日本に次いで2位でグループを通過。だが、6日の決勝トーナメント1回戦でモロッコ代表にPK戦の末に敗れ、ラウンド16敗退に。この一戦が最後の指揮という形になった。
また、自身とともにコーチングスタッフ陣も全員が退任するとのことで、RFEFは「L・エンリケ監督の功績に感謝している」とし、「将来の最高の幸運を願っている」と、感謝の意を示している。

PSGがバルサの19歳MFガビを狙う? 2026年夏で契約満了、ルイス・エンリケ監督は才能を見出した張本人

「激アツ」「どっちも可愛い」長谷川唯の“激レア”スペイン代表ユニフォーム姿が話題! イニエスタにも例えられるボンマティの日本代表ユニも話題「なんかエモい」

「今ではサッカーに集中」騒動が収束に向かっているスペイン女子代表、女子W杯最優秀選手のボンマティが語る「最初はストレスと不安が…」

ブラヒムのA代表変更・モロッコ代表入りほぼ確実、スペイン代表率いる恩師が3年ぶり招集検討も
