37歳サンティ・カソルラ、引退後の人生を検討「アーセナルで何か役に立ちたい」

アル・サッドでプレーする元スペイン代表MFサンティ・カソルラ(37)が、古巣アーセナルへの復帰を希望している。

2020年夏からアル・サッドに活躍の場を移したカソルラ。その初年度にリーグ戦20試合で13ゴール11アシストの数字を残し優勝に貢献すると、昨季も16試合6ゴール8アシストの成績で連覇を果たした。

そして、今夏には2023年夏まで契約を延長。リーグ戦は9月半ばを最後に中断中だが、ここまでは開幕から全7試合でフル出場しており、2ゴール2アシストと変わらずの活躍を披露している。

そんな中、イギリス『デイリー・メール』のインタビューで今後の進退について言及。引退が迫っているとし、アーセナルで役職に就くという希望を明かした。

「引退後の人生を考え始めなければならないね。監督か、アシスタントコーチか、はたまたスポーツ・ディレクターかはわからないけどね」

「夢はアーセナルでもっとたくさんプレーすることだった。もちろん、また戻りたいと思っているよ。クラブが自分のことを考えてくれているかどうか、コーチや監督として何かの役に立てるかどうか、待たないといけない」
