クロアチア代表モドリッチ、150キャップ目到達に「素晴らしい気持ち」

クロアチア代表MFルカ・モドリッチが代表での節目到達を誇った。欧州サッカー連盟の公式サイト『UEFA.com』が報じている。

2006年3月のA代表デビューから、今や主将を託され、顔にもなるモドリッチ。6日にホームで行われたUEFAネーションズリーグ(UNL)2022-23リーグA・グループ1第2節のフランス代表戦も先発して、クロアチア代表の最多出場記録をさらに更新する通算150キャップ目に到達した。

所属先のレアル・マドリーでも輝かしいキャリアを紡ぎ続ける36歳は「素晴らしい気持ちだ。クロアチア代表として150試合目を迎えられて嬉しいし、誇りに思う」と心境を明かしている。

そんなモドリッチが中心となるクロアチアだが、フランス戦も1-1のドロー。0-3の完敗を喫したオーストリア代表戦に続いて白星ならずだが、追いついての勝ち点1を前向きに捉えた。

「幸いにも負けずに済んだし、僕らのパフォーマンスに関しては満足できる。最後のゴールで報われたよ。もっと勝ち点を積み上げるためにもこの調子を続けないとね」
