現在アメリカで行われているCONCACAFゴールドカップ2021で衝撃的なゴールが生まれた。18日に行われたグループB最終節のアメリカ代表vsカナダ代表。すでに両チームとも決勝トーナメント進出を決めた中での一戦となったが、その開始20秒、アメリカがキックオフと同時に攻め込むと、MFセバスティアン・レットゲット(ロサンゼルス・ギャラクシー)のボックス左からの折り返しを、ゴール前に走り込んだDFシャケル・ムーア(テネリフェ)が押し込んで電光石火の先制点を挙げた。
ゴールドカップの公式ツイッターによると、このゴールは大会史上最速ゴールで、またアメリカ代表の公式ツイッターも、統計を始めた1989年以降では同代表最速記録となったようだ。これまでは2014年のワールドカップでガーナ代表相手に34秒で決めたFWクリント・デンプシーのゴールが最速だった。
試合はその後、カナダが主導権を握る展開となったが、虎の子の1点を守り切ったアメリカがグループステージ全勝で首位通過。24日に予定されている準々決勝では、コスタリカ代表またはジャマイカ代表と対戦する。

日本サッカー協会(JFA)は11日、パリ・オリンピックの出場権を獲得したU-23日本代表が6月にアメリカ遠征を行うことを発表した。
AFC U23アジアカップで見事に優勝を果たした日本。パリ・オリンピックの出場権も無事に獲得し、8大会連続12回目のオリンピック出場を決めた。

“アメリカの英雄”デンプシー、現役引退…プレミア&代表同国史上最多得点者

クリンスマンの息子でU-23アメリカ代表GKジョナサンがザンクト・ガレンへ移籍!｢ヨーロッパリーグ出場に貢献したい｣
