イングランド代表のレジェンドであるデイビッド・ベッカム氏が、意外な姿を披露してざわつかせている。

ユーロ2020に臨んだイングランド代表は、初の決勝進出。ロンドンのウェンブリー・スタジアムで行われた決勝では、イタリア代表と対戦。しかし、PK戦まで縺れた試合はイタリアに軍配が上がり、イングランド悲願の優勝はならなかった。

ベッカム氏は優勝を逃したものの、若手選手を中心に大健闘を見せた母国代表を称賛。「我々のチームがこの大会を通して、真のライオンのように戦うのを観ることができたのはとても光栄だった」とメッセージを送っていた。

そのベッカム氏だが、インスタグラムにアップした写真が大きな話題に。息子であるロメオ、クルスとの3ショットをアップしたが、その髪型に注目が集まった。

中央に移るロメオは金髪の超短髪、左に写るクルスはピンクの短髪となっており、右に写るベッカム氏はロメオと同じ金髪の短髪になっている。

どこかで見たことがあるこの髪型。それはイングランド代表MFフィル・フォーデンとソックリだった。

フォーデンはイングランド代表が優勝したら全員が金髪で同じ髪型にするという公約を掲げていたが、残念ながらその公約は叶わず。しかし、ベッカム氏がその髪型にしたのだ。

ベッカム氏は写真とともに「少年たちは誰が90年代に最初にそれをしたのかを思い出す必要がある」とし、「彼らの顔を見ると、喜んではいないようだ」と、息子たちの表情が不満げだとした。

長男のブルックリンはこの写真には写らなかったが、コメントで「とてもかっこいい」と評価。妻のヴィクトリアさんは「パパが最初にやったのよ。今回はさらに良く見えるわ!!!」と、愛する夫の懐かしい姿に太鼓判を押していた。
