スペイン代表は14日、ユーロ2020グループE第1節でスウェーデン代表と対戦する。ユーロ2012以来、2大会ぶりの優勝を目指して初陣に臨む。試合を前に、アルバはスペイン代表の選手層の厚さを絶賛。レベルの高い大会を戦うとしながらも、チームの完成度に自信を見せた。
「これは常に考えていたことだけど、このコンペティションは非常にレベルが高く、素晴らしい。盛り上がりは他の大会の決勝と同じくらいだ。このような大会では、選手1人1人の質が重要になってくる」

「何か大きなことをしたいと思っているよ。決勝まで7試合あり、運の要素も影響してくると思うけど、僕らはとてもよく鍛えられたチームだと思っている。誰もがスターターのように感じており、それはチームにとっても良いことだね」
また、中3日という過密日程の中で大会が行われることについても「僕らは中3日のプレーに慣れているし、準備はできている。チーム全員を助けたい」と問題視しなかった。

さらに、新型コロナウィルス陽性のため、離脱したバルセロナのMFセルヒオ・ブスケッツについても言及。代理としてキャプテンを担うものの、「キャプテンはブシ(ブスケッツの愛称)だ。彼の復帰を楽しみにしているよ。彼はサッカーの面でも、人間性の面でも欠かせない存在なんだ」とリスペクトを欠かさなかった。

「99%の希望を失った」スペインの名医がガビの負傷に言及「劇的な状況になってしまう」、原因は「選手の試合数」

レアルDFが結婚式! 相手はモデルで双子のウエディング・プランナー、チームメイトも参列し祝福

個人四冠、スペイン女子MFボンマティのバロンドール受賞を仲間が祝福!トロフィー付きのケーキに記念パネル「これは素晴らしい」
