スペインサッカー連盟(REFE)は8日、新たに11人のトレーニングメンバーを招集したことを発表した。
ユーロ2020初戦のスウェーデン代表戦が14日に迫る中、スペイン代表ではMFセルヒオ・ブスケッツ(バルセロナ)とDFディエゴ・ジョレンテ(リーズ・ユナイテッド)が新型コロナウィルスに感染。
クラスター発生を考慮したルイス・エンリケ監督は、6日のブスケッツのコロナ感染報告の翌日にトレーニングメンバーとしてFWロドリゴ・モレノ、MFパブロ・フォルナルス、MFカルロス・ソレール、MFブライス・メンデス、DFラウール・アルビオルの招集を発表していた。
その後、8日にもディエゴ・ジョレンテが感染したことを受けて、また新たに11選手を招集。今回のメンバーは、先日までU-21ユーロに臨んでいたU-21スペイン代表の面々で占められており、3日のポルトガルとの準決勝で敗退した同チームは、ブスケッツのコロナ感染で試合を辞退したA代表に代わって、8日のリトアニア代表との親善試合を戦った。
これでトレーニングメンバーは合計17名となったが、仮に代表チームから感染者が続出した場合、ここから追加招集すると見られている。

息子の早産に悩んだダビド・シルバ「フットボールが唯一の拠り所だった」
