翌日にチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)の新フォーマットの発表が迫っていた中、突如として12クラブが参加を公式に表明し、サッカー界を激震させたESL構想。多くの反対意見が飛び交っており、FIFAやUEFAも直ちに声明を発表。しばらく熱りが冷めることはなさそうだ。
そんな中、ディエゴ・マラドーナ・ジュニア氏も否定的な考えを持っている模様。イタリアラジオ『CRC』に出演した際に、ESL構想に対して「すぐに中止すべき」と切って落とし、全面否定の姿勢を見せた。
「私が気に入らないのは、12クラブがESLに参加し、彼らがより多くの金儲けを望んでいることを認めたという事実だ。サッカーでは全員が平等な権利を持っているはずだ。これは良くないよ」

マラドーナ氏の死因が徐々に判明…検死の専門家「12時間にわたる長い苦しみの末に死亡した」
2020年11月25日に60歳で急逝したアルゼンチンの英雄であるディエゴ・マラドーナ。その死因を巡り裁判が行われている中、死因が徐々に判明しているという。 マラドーナ氏は亡くなる前、脳に硬膜下血腫が見つかったため、緊急手術を受けていた。その後に回復し、自宅で治療を続けていた中、心停止を起こして帰らぬ人となっていた。 しかし、この死には数々の噂が流れ、主治医であったレオポルド・ルケ氏が死に関与しているという報道まで出たほど。その中で、アルゼンチンの検察がマラドーナのメディカルチームを調査するために2021年3月に20人の専門家を集めて、8人の医療専門家を過失致死罪で裁判にかけることとなっていた。 第6回の公判が行われた中、アルゼンチンの検死専門家マウリシオ・カシネッリ氏は27日に法廷でマラドーナ氏は「心臓の重量が通常の2倍以上」で、「頭からつま先まで全身浮腫」を患っており、「12時間にわたる長い苦しみの末に死亡した」と明らかにした。 また、マラドーナ氏の体内には「4.5リットルの水」が蓄積しており、3リットルは腹部にあったとのこと。また、マラドーナ氏は自宅で治療するのではなく、病院で治療すべきだったとも主張している。 被告らは容疑を否認。ただ、有罪判決が下れば最長で25年の懲役刑が科される可能性がある。裁判には190人以上の証人が召喚され、7月中旬まで続く予定となっている。 2025.03.28 23:45 Fri

【マラドーナの思い出②】全盛期に来日したマラドーナ
ディエゴ・マラドーナは、「死んでもマラドーナだった」と言うべきだろうか。 現役時代はスーパープレーでファンを魅了しただけでなく、数々のスキャンダルも巻き起こした。そして埋葬される際にはファンを自称する葬儀屋のアルバイトが、親指を立てたツーショット写真を撮影してSNSにアップするという、とんでもない問題を引き起こした。 <div class="dugout-video dugout-embed-eyJrZXkiOiJRQkZwNEVQayIsInAiOiJ1bHRyYXNvY2NlciIsInBsIjoiIn0="></div><script type="text/javascript" src="https://embed.dugout.com/v3.1/ultrasoccer.js"></script></div> さらには主治医が職務怠慢で死亡させたのではないかとの疑いから、捜査の対象になっているという。 CLを始めヨーロッパや南米のリーグでは試合前に黙祷を捧げてマラドーナの死を悼む一方、次から次にスキャンダラスな出来事が報じられる。これではマラドーナも落ち着いて永遠の眠りにつくことはできないだろう。と同時に、やはりマラドーナらしいと思わずにはいられなかった。 そんなマラドーナの全盛時代をアルゼンチン国民や南米のファンは見守り続けてきただろうが、彼らに次いでマラドーナの凄さを目の当たりにしたのが日本のファンと言っていいだろう。 1979年、日本で初めてワールドユース(現U-20W杯)が開催された。尾崎、水沼、風間、柱谷(兄)らを擁した日本は旧国立競技場でグループリーグ3試合を戦ったが、マラドーナ率いるアルゼンチンもグループリーグを大宮サッカー場(現NACK5スタジアム)で戦ったため、首都圏のファンは全試合を見ることが可能だった(ロメロ率いるパラグアイは神戸中央球技場=現ノエビアスタジアム、ルベン・パスのウルグアイは三ツ沢球技場=現ニッパツ三ツ沢)。 18歳当時のマラドーナを毎日新聞運動部の記者は「まるでゴムまりのようだ」と表現した。「しなやかでいて軽やか」に、そして弾むようにマーカーを次々と抜き去っていくプレーはまさに「ゴムまり」だった。 後年、マラドーナの自伝ビデオで10歳前後のプレーを見たが、自陣ペナルティーエリアからドリブルを始め、1人で10人を抜き、最後はGKも抜いてゴールを決めた。ボールを持ったら相手を抜くことを苦にしない少年時代だったようだ。 初めての国際大会で初優勝を飾ったマラドーナはうれしそうにトロフィーを掲げた。得点王はチームメイトのラモン・ディアス。Jリーグ元年に横浜Mでプレーし、初代得点王に輝いたFWだ。そして160センチと小柄な右ウイングのオズバルド・エスクデロは、91-92年に三菱(現浦和)でプレーし、甥のエスクデロ競飛王(せるひお)は浦和で活躍するなど日本国籍を取得し、現在は栃木SCでプレーしている。 話をマラドーナに戻すと、ゼロックス・スーパー・サッカーで3度の来日を果たしている。いまでこそFUJI XEROX SUPER CUPはJ1リーグ王者と天皇杯覇者が激突する大会として1994年にスタートして定着したが、前身となるゼロックス・スーパー・サッカーは1979年に始まり、日本代表と世界の有名クラブとの対戦が目玉だった。 第1回大会(79年)はフランツ・ベッケンバウアーやヨハン・ニースケンスらを擁したニューヨーク・コスモスで、翌80年はワシントン・ディプロマッツと北米リーグのチームが2年連続して来日したが、ディプロマッツではヨハン・クライフが初来日して日本ファンの前でプレーした。そして82年1月がボカ・ジュニアーズだった。 スペインW杯が開催される5ヶ月前であり初来日から3年後、まさに全盛期での来日だった。6月にはバルセロナへと移籍したため、この試合を見られた日本ファンはまさに僥倖と言えただろう。試合は国立競技場で2試合(1-1、1-0)、神戸中央で1試合(3-2)の計3試合を戦い、マラドーナは3ゴールを決めた。 神戸では、右からのグラウンダーのクロスに対し、ニアサイドに走り込みながらラボーナでゴールを決めた。 マークしていた都並さんによると、敵がドリブルしてきたら、いつもなら間合いを詰めつつ等間隔、同じスピードで下がりながら、味方がカバーに入る時間を稼ぐようにしていた。いわゆる「ディレイ」というプレーだ。しかしマラドーナのドリブルは通常の選手と違ってかなりのハイスピードだったため、ディレイそのものが間に合わなかったそうだ。 さらに都並さんは1対1で守る際はドリブラーの保持するボールではなく、相手の目を見て次のプレー、ドリブルのコースを予測していた。しかし「マラドーナは目線でもフェイントをかけてきた」ため逆を取られたと述懐していた。 その後マラドーナはメキシコW杯後の87年1月には南米選抜のキャプテンとして来日し(監督はビラルド)、JSL(日本リーグ)選抜と対戦。JSL選抜は西ドイツから帰国した奥寺や、まだブラジル国籍だったラモス瑠偉らがいたため日本代表よりも豪華な顔ぶれだった。 そして4度目の来日となったのが88年8月のゼロックス・スーパー・サッカーだった。ナポリでセリエA初優勝(86-87年)と得点王(87―88年)を獲得するなど、まさに絶頂期での来日だった。 チームメイトにはチロ・フェラーラ、デ・ナポリ、アレモン、カレッカなど代表クラスが揃う豪華メンバーで、日本代表とのたった1試合だけの“真夏の夜の夢"でもあった(2-0でナポリの勝利)。 マラドーナといえば、履いているサッカーシューズはワールドユース時代からプーマ一筋。そしてヒモの結び方も独特だった。足の甲で交差するヒモがシューズより表に出ないよう工夫されていた。これも微妙なボールタッチを優先するためだったのだろうか。機会があったらシューズにも注目して欲しい。 【文・六川亨】<br/>1957年9月25日生まれ。当時、月刊だった「サッカーダイジェスト」の編集者としてこの世界に入り、隔週、週刊サッカーダイジェストの編集長や、「CALCIO2002」、「プレミアシップマガジン」、「サッカーズ」の編集長を歴任。現在はフリーランスとして、Jリーグや日本代表をはじめ、W杯やユーロ、コパ・アメリカなど精力的に取材活動を行っている。日本サッカー暗黒の時代からJリーグ誕生、日本代表のW杯初出場などを見続けた</div> 2020.12.01 19:55 Tue

昨年末のこと、残念なニュースが飛び込んできた。一昨年末に亡くなったディエゴ・マラドーナの末弟であるウーゴ・マラドーナ(52歳)が急逝したとの報道だ。死因はナポリにある自宅で心臓発作を起こしたらしい。 ディエゴ自身もこれまで放映された映画やアマゾンTVが放送しているドラマなどで、ナポリ時代に薬物に手を出したことを告白している。もしかしたらウーゴも同じ道を辿ったとしたら、兄ディエゴは“英雄"だったかもしれないが、ファミリーにとってナポリ時代は悔やまれてならない。 ウーゴの存在を身近に知ったのは、92年に浜松市をホームにするPJMフューチャーズに加入した時だった。 PJMは、アメリカ人のポール・J・マイヤーが開発した人材育成のための能力開発システムで、当時、本田技研の研修を担当していた桑原勝義氏が興味を持ったことから“おとぎ話"はスタートした。桑原は藤枝東高時代に高校選手権で優勝し、その後は日本代表にも選ばれた好選手で、本田サッカー部の監督も歴任した(現JFL理事長)。 桑原氏の夢は、一貫した育成システムで育てた選手を2002年のW杯で日本代表に送り込むことだった。そのために本田を辞め、87年にクワバラスポーツクラブと、本田サッカー部の選手を中心にしたPJMフューチャーズを立ち上げた。 当初の予定は7年後の94年にJSL(日本サッカーリーグ)1部入りを果たすことだったが、時代はJリーグ創設へと動き出した。 Jリーグ入りへ、静岡からはJSL1部のヤマハと本田に加え、県リーグ所属の清水クラブ(後の清水エスパルス)の4チームが名乗りを上げた(その後は中央防犯、現アビスパ福岡もJリーグ入りを表明)。後発であり劣勢が否めないPJMにとって、Jリーグ入りへ起死回生の策だったのが当時29歳のディエゴ・マラドーナの獲得だった。 90年7月、PJMフューチャーズのオーナーでありPJMジャパンの社長の有田平は「移籍金は20億円以上、年俸も希望次第」と発表した。しかしナポリとの契約が93年5月まで残っていたため、マラドーナの獲得は夢のまま終わった。 そんなPJMフューチャーズに転機が訪れたのは東海リーグに昇格した91年、マラドーナ3兄弟の末弟であるウーゴを獲得したことだった。兄に似てずんぐりむっくりの体型のウーゴは、「背番号10は兄ディエゴのためにとっておく」と話していた。ディエゴの夢である「兄弟3人(ラウルとウーゴ)でプレーする」ための布石ではないかと報道されることもあった。 残念ながら兄ディエゴは90年イタリアW杯後の91年にコカイン服用の疑いでイタリア警察から告発され、FIFAからは15ヶ月の出場停止処分を受け、兄弟が揃って日本でプレーする夢はかなわなかった。 それでもウーゴはPJM(後の鳥栖フューチャーズ)でプレーした92年から94年の3年間(東海リーグとJFL)で49試合出場31ゴール、95年は福岡ブルックスに移籍し､JFLでは27試合出場で27ゴールを奪ってJリーグ昇格に貢献、97年には札幌でもチームをJリーグ昇格へと導いた。 偉大すぎる兄と比較されながらも、そのひたむきなプレーは鳥栖や福岡、札幌のファン・サポーターの脳裏に焼き付いているのではないだろうか。遅ればせながら、哀悼の意を表します。 2022.01.10 12:30 Mon

1チームに1人欲しかった“万能型サイドバック”、ジャンルカ・ザンブロッタ

スーペル・コッパ2025の日程が決定!昨季に引き続きサウジアラビアで開催
レガ・セリエAは29日、スーペル・コッパ2025の日程と開催地を発表した。 昨年からスペインのスーペル・コパにならい、これまでのセリエA王者vsコッパ・イタリア王者だけでなく、ファイナル4(セリエA首位&2位とコッパ・イタリア決勝の2クラブ)によるトーナメント方式に変更されたスーペル・コッパ。 今回のスーペル・コッパにはリーグ王者のインテルとコッパ・イタリア王者のユベントス、リーグ2位のミランに加え、昨年のコッパ・イタリア決勝に出場したアタランタが参加。 今大会は2025年1月2～6日に準決勝2試合、決勝1試合の3試合が行われ、昨年に引き続きサウジアラビアで開催される。試合会場はネイマールが所属するアル・ヒラルの本拠地キングダム・アリーナとなる。 なお準決勝は、1月2日にインテルvsアタランタが行われ、3日にユベントスvsミランが行われ、勝者による決勝は6日に開催される。 2024.10.09 07:30 Wed
