若くしてバイエルンに引き抜かれたアラバは2010年にトップチームに昇格。主力として定着すると、リーグ屈指のDFとして活躍を続けている。

DFながら得点力抜群のFKを蹴るなど、攻守に活躍するアラバだが、2015年11月4日に行われた、チャンピオンズリーグ(CL)グループステージのアーセナル戦では、見事なゴールを決めている。

2-0とバイエルンリードで迎えた44分、相手ディフェンスラインの手前のスペースでアラバがボールを受ける。相手MFのサンティ・カソルラとフランシス・コクランからプレスを受けながらも、これをいなしながら前を向くと、ゴール正面の位置から豪快なミドルシュート。鋭いシュートはゴール右上に突き刺さり、相手を突き放す3点目を奪った。

この後も得点を重ねたバイエルンは5-1で勝利している。
