現在はアーセナルの絶対的エースとして君臨するオーバメヤン。ドルトムントで大ブレイクを果たしたが、ストライカーとして頭角を現したのは2011年冬から2013年夏まで在籍したサンテチェンヌだった。
ブレイクのきっかけとなったサンテチェンヌでは、公式戦97試合で41ゴール25アシストを記録しているオーバメヤンだが、2013年3月2日に行われた、リーグ・アン第27節のニース戦では、見事なアシストを記録している。
