デュッセルドルフは1日、オーストリア人MFケビン・ストガー(26)、デンマーク代表DFマティアス・ヨルゲンセン(30)、ガーナ代表DFカシム・ヌフ(25)、アメリカ代表GKザック・ステッフェン(25)の4名が退団することを発表した。

ストガーは2018年夏に2部のボーフムからフリーで加入。在籍初年度からチームの主力として活躍していたが、今季は十字じん帯断裂の大ケガを負って前半戦を欠場。後半戦の17試合はすべて出場し、5アシストを記録していた。

マティアス・ヨルゲンセンは、今冬にフェネルバフチェから半年間のレンタル移籍で加入。ブンデスリーガで9試合、DFBポカールで2試合に出場していた。なお、フェネルバフチェに戻り、2年契約を結んだとのことだ。
ヌフは昨夏ホッフェンハイムから1年間のレンタル移籍で加入。チーム初先発を飾った試合で初ゴールを決めるなど主力としてプレー。しかし、今年1月に就任したウヴェ・ロスラー監督の下では構想外となり、リーグ戦2試合以外はメンバー外となっていた。今季はブンデスリーガで13試合に出場し1ゴールを記録していた。

ステッフェンはマンチェスター・シティから昨夏1年間のレンタル移籍で加入。リーグ開幕戦から17試合連続でゴールマウスを守っていたものの、膝蓋腱や内側側副じん帯損傷の大ケガを負い、後半戦を棒に振っていた。
デュッセルドルフは今シーズンのブンデスリーガを17位で終え、2部降格となっていた。

「なぜこれがアウェイユニじゃない?」旧市街をイメージしたデュッセルドルフの特別ユニフォームにファンが大興奮「毎試合着よう」

「可愛い時とかっこいい時のギャップがすごい」移動時のお茶目な姿が話題の田中碧、今度はグラウンドで真剣な眼差し「良い表情してますね」
