母になったモーガンが東京に? 出産から3カ月での東京五輪出場に意欲

アメリカ女子代表FWアレックス・モーガンが、東京オリンピックへの意気込みを語った。イギリス『BBC』が伝えた。

モーガンは、言わずと知れたアメリカ女子代表のエースストライカー。美女アスリートとしても知られ、2019年にフランスで行われた女子ワールドカップでは最多タイとなる6ゴールを記録し、シルバーブーツを受賞していた。

そんなモーガンだが、10月に女児を妊娠している事を発表。公私ともに充実している事がうかがえる。

しかし、出産予定日が2020年4月という事で、東京オリンピックへの影響が懸念されていた。出産からわずか3カ月でオリンピックの舞台に立てるのか。モーガンはその願望を語った。

「そこでプレーするのが私の目標です」

「明らかに短い期間だけど、もし可能なら、私はそこで国を代表していたいと思います」

東京オリンピックの開幕は7月24日。しかし、サッカーは開幕の2日前からスタートする。果たして、母となったモーガンを東京で見ることはできるのだろうか。

モーガンとブロンズが6度目! W杯準優勝のイングランドが最多7名選出の女子ワールドイレブンが発表!
