スウェーデンサッカー協会(SvFF)は5日、前SvFF会長で欧州サッカー連盟(UEFA)の5代目会長を務めたレナート・ヨハンソン氏(享年89)が4日に逝去したことを発表した。なお、死因に関しては病死とのみ伝えられている。
ストックホルム生まれのヨハンソン氏は、地元のプロサッカークラブのAIKソルナの会長を務めた後、1984年から1991年にかけてSvFFの会長を務めた。
また、1990年から2007年までUEFA会長を務めると、在任期間中にUEFAチャンピオンズリーグ(CL)の創設、1992年のユーロでは母国スウェーデンへの誘致にも尽力した。
一方、副会長を兼任していた国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)では1998年に会長選に出馬を果たしたが、ゼップ・ブラッター氏に敗れていた。

「今までで最も酷い」「複雑な気持ち」太陽をイメージしたスウェーデン代表の新ユニフォームが大不評「一体どうすればこんなにも間違うのか」
