加入噂のある香川真司、エバートンファンからは歓迎されず?

先日にレンタル先のベシクタシュからの退団を明言した日本代表MF香川真司。ドルトムントとは2020年まで契約を残しているが、少し前からプレミアリーグ行きの噂が流れている。

その行先の一つがエバートンだ。今季からマルコ・シウバ監督が就任し、日を追うごとにチームの完成度は高まっていった。シーズン終盤にはチェルシー、アーセナル、マンチェスター・ユナイテッドを次々と倒し、リバプールやトッテナムとも引き分けた第28節からの成績は6勝3分け2敗という成績だった。

今季を8位で終えたエバートンは、来季はおそらくヨーロッパリーグ出場が目標となってくる。そんなエバートンを支えるサポーターからは、香川の加入は歓迎されていないようだ。

イギリス『HITC』が香川のエバートン移籍に関するツイッターの反応を紹介。そこには辛辣なコメントが並んでいた。

「我々は24歳から26歳の選手を求めてるんだが…」

「彼は監督が求めている年齢を考えると高齢過ぎる」

「この情報が真実でないことを祈る。香川は過去の選手」

「いらないな。彼は使い物にならない」

なかなか厳しい意見の数々だ。3月に30歳となった香川はベシクタシュではリーグ戦14試合に出場し4ゴール2アシストを記録。プレミアリーグではウェストハムからの関心も伝えられているが、果たして日本代表MFは来季はどこでプレーしているのだろうか。
