▽快進撃を続けるチームの中心にいるアザールは、ベルギーのラ・ルヴィエール出身。しかし、14歳の頃にフランス・リールの下部組織に移籍して、名門クラブで才能を磨くことに。2007年にわずか16歳でリーグ・アンデビューを飾り、2012年にチェルシーへと加入してトッププレイヤーへの階段を登っていった。
▽そんなアザールだが、まだ幼かった1998年にフランス代表がW杯に優勝するなど圧倒的な強さを誇っていたこともあり、弟のトルガン(ボルシアMG)やキリアン(チェルシー)と共に当時はベルギーよりもフランスを応援していたことを告白している。
