▽セルティックは15日、元コートジボワール代表DFコロ・トゥーレ(36)がテクニカルコーチに就任したことを発表した。

▽昨シーズン、セルティックで1年間過ごしたコロ・トゥーレが、この度同クラブのアシスタントコーチに就任した。昨季終了をもってフリーとなっていた同選手は、同時に自身の進退についても公言している。

「これは私のキャリアにおける新たなステージだ。私のフットボールはもう終わりだ。私は公式に現役からの引退を宣言できる。今はコーチとしての役割に完全に集中しているよ」

「これから私がすることは今までと大きな変化はない。これまでも周りの選手たちをサポートしてきたんだ。これからは若い選手たちに、自分のキャリアを通じて得たすべての経験をもとにアドバイスしていくつもりだ」

「ブレンダン・ロジャーズ監督と共に働くことで多くの学ぶことがあるだろう。彼は一流の監督だ。世界で最も優れた若い監督の1人だ。彼がセルティックでやってきたことは誰もが知るところだ。アメージングだね」

▽母国コートジボワールでキャリアをスタートさせたコロ・トゥーレは、2002年冬にアーセナル入り。公式戦327試合に出場した。その後はマンチェスター・シティやリバプールを経て、プレミアリーグでは2度の優勝を経験。昨季はセルティックでプレーし、無敗での国内3冠の獲得に貢献した。代表では118キャップを数え、2015年にはアフリカネイションズカップ優勝を果たしている。

アジアカップの開幕が近づく中で、日本代表FW前田大然(セルティック)が自身の状態について言及した。 12日に開幕を迎えるアジアカップ2023。カタールで開催される中で日本代表は調整を続けている。ケガの影響もあり9月以降の日本代表活動に参加できなかったが、復帰してアジアカップで合流。9日に行われたヨルダン代表とのトレーニングマッチでもゴールを記録していた。前田は11日のトレーニング後に取材に応じ、ヨルダン戦についてコメント。「個人というかチームとして良い状態だと思います。ここ数回は辞退していたので、なんとか取り戻したいとやっていて、練習試合でしたけどしっかりゴールできて良かったです」と、ゴールを喜んだ。セルティックでもリーグ戦5試合欠場したもの、12月中旬に復帰。5試合を戦った中、合流直前のセント・ミレン戦では10月以来のゴールを記録した。「復帰してチームでも2、3試合やりましたし、こっちに来る前にゴールもできていたので、問題ないです」と状態は問題ないと語った前田。11日のトレーニングは途中で離脱したが「コンディションを上げたいという部分もありましたが、明日の練習から全然大丈夫なので問題ないです」と、大きな問題ではないとした。開幕は12日だが、日本の初戦はベトナム代表と14日に行われる。カタール・ワールドカップ(W杯)のアジア予選でも戦ったベトナム。格下ではあるが、簡単にも勝たせてもらえない相手だ。前田は「練習前にミーティングしましたけど、ベトナムとは1点差のゲームが多くて、難しい試合になることは間違い無いです」とコメント。「ただ、前と比べるとチームは大きく進化しているので、自分たちのサッカーをすれば良い試合ができていると思います」と、今の日本代表の戦いができれば問題はないと語った。一方で、トレーニングマッチのヨルダン戦ではカウンターから失点。前田は失点はない方が良いとしながらも、本大会前に確認できたことは良かったとした。「失点してきていなかった中での失点ですが、試合をやっていればどうしてもしてしまいますし、大会前にチームとして経験できたこと、そういうこともあるということが分かったのはこれから先やっていく上で良かったかなと。失点は無い方がもちろんいいので、減らしていけば良いと思います」今回の日本代表には、山梨学院大学附属高校の1つ先輩であるDF渡辺剛(ヘント)が招集されている。高校の先輩と代表では初の活動になるが、「一緒にやりたいというのは常にあったので、今回初めてそういう機会が得られたので、母校を盛り上げるように2人で活躍したいです」とコメント。ついに実現したことを喜んだ。 2024.01.11 23:57 Thu

「知らなかったからビックリした」セルティック加入井手口陽介の上半身タトゥーに驚きの声
